That is tough. I love all holidays for different reason, just to pick one. I would say Thanksgiving, it is the start of the season. I love the holiday season in general. I love that you ALWAYS get a 4 day weekend with Thanksgiving. Sometimes based on when Christmas falls you may get 1/2 day off (NOT FAIR). I love the Christmas tree lite up and the spirit of Christmas, but I would have to say Thanksgiving has so many endless benefits besides a 4 day holiday. Black Friday reason #2. But there is so much to be Thankful for and I am thankful for my life and my family.

I would say the 4th of July…I love to BBQ and the fireworks. This past 4th I made a red, white, and blue checker board cake.
Easter. It’s a time of new beginnings. A time to celebrate a risen Savior. It’s a more lad back holiday for us and not as much hype as other holidays. Still good food, family and of course church.

I love them ALL and everyone in between! I even make up reasons to celebrate. Like in springtime we plant Magic jellybeans and when my kids wake up in the morning it has sprouted a big swirly lollipop! We started a tradition of dressing up as a family theme each year. I never dreamed my kids would still want to do it as they got older but they look forward to it! i love Thanksgiving because it’s family and Christmas for the smells and the music and glitter and sparkly things and of course the baking! Easter because who doesn’t love a good hunt for treasure and resurrection rolls are magical! Like I said, I love them all!

My favorite holiday has always been Fourth of July! My hometown of Raymond, Illinois (population: 950 friendly folks!) has a big Independence Day celebration every year. When I was a kid, everyone came back for it, no matter how far they had roamed. It was and is a wonderful way to reconnect with family and friends.

I adore Halloween. We either host a party or go to a party given by one of our friends. It’s a chance to get together without the pressure of gifts and just have fun. This year it is our turn to host and we are doing costumes, games, apple bobbing – all the things that we enjoyed so much as children. And, we will enjoy passing these traditions onto our own children that will be there.
