Happy Sunday! And Happy Father’s Day, too! I’m giving away something sweet to celebrate summer and of course ice cream.
You know, I think I could eat ice cream every day. It’s always my favorite go-to treat when I travel… but I never really get ice cream at restaurants. That just seems boring. Probably because it’s not as fun as going into a scoop shop and looking all the pretty creamy colors. And I always prefer eating ice cream out of a cup. I don’t like to eat it out of a cone because I’m way messy. So if I do get it in a cone, it’s just so I can snap a picture of it. Then I turn it upside down and dump it in a cup and eat it with a spoon – or better yet – I like to break up the waffle cone (never a sugar cone) and use it to scoop out the ice cream. I may be weird.
Okay, back to the giveaway.

So hard to pick! Homemade vanilla with fresh fruit is hard to beat, but I’ve also been on a chocolate and cookie dough kick lately.

Oh, it is SO HARD to choose just one favorite! This week it is salted caramel in a wafer cone or a bowl. Tillamook has a new flavor that I can’t get enough of, right out of the carton: Oregon Hazelnut and Salted Caramel – OH, MY!

My all time favorite ice cream is from Baskins & Robbins ice cream shop and it is called Pralines & Cream. I love it in a bowl and it is hard not to eat the whole pint at one time!!

I love cookies and Cream ice cream in an ice cream pie! Especially the type with the nice fluffy whip cream and the oreo chunks on top, the whip cream isnt too sweet which would completely overwhelm the ice cream and the chunks make the ice cream nice and crunchy.

What fun!! As for favorite flavor, we have an old fashioned ice cream shop nearby that makes a fluffernutter ice cream sundae (vanilla, peanut butter, and marshmallow!) that’s ADDICTIVE! Served in an old timey metal dish with a long spoon. Hmmm…suddenly I have to run an errand on that side of town…RIGHT NOW… :)
It’s hard to say no to ice cream! I like just about any flavor with dark chocolate or peanut butter, and weird combinations, too…like grapefruit and basil. I eat it by the bowlful!

When I was a little girl, Walgreen’s used to sell ice cream under their label. Our family loved the Banana Fudge Ripple flavor and I have wanted to try and make something similar for years and I would need a very large bowl for my portion – Banana ice cream with thick ripples of chocolate fudge running through it. It was a sad day when they discontinued it.

Favorite…who can choose? I love chocolate fudge brownie (all chocolates, really), I love, love, love all kinds of fruit ice cream, and I adore mango sorbet! I once had Butterscotch Pudding ice cream at Betty Jane in Dubuque, IA. It was so amazing that I wish I didn’t live half way across the country from it. I almost always eat my frozen treats in a bowl.

I loooooove ice cream!!! I like a variety of flavors and testing new ones just no mint. My favorite right now is Ben & Jerry’s Karmel Sutra, half vanilla, half chocolate with a core of carmel. I like that I can mix each bite to what ever I’m feeling. Nothing however beats homemade.
