This post doesn’t involve baking from this weekend
but there’s something pretty sweet at the end I think you’ll like.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Okay, so I’ve been out of town for the last two weekends. First, Chicago for the Home and Housewares Show…
and last weekend somewhere a little bit warmer.
I was in sunny Florida for a weekend conference full of learning and sharing with friends – and a bunch of food and fun thrown in.
Food Blog Forum Orlando. Put on by Jaden Hair of Steamy Kitchen, Todd & Diane of White On Rice Couple, Julie Deily of The Little Kitchen and Dawn Viola.
And sponsored by Disney, Kitchenaid, OXO, Land O’ Lakes, Whole Foods, Le Creuset and more.
The meeting was held at Walt Disney World and it was amazing. So well done. Julie from the Little Kitchen knows how to put together a great event. I was there with a bunch of great speakers. (See the whole group here) Alison Lewis (Ingredients, Inc.) and I spoke at round table discussions on writing a cookbook. I really enjoyed the round table set up because we were able to talk one-on-one with people and that’s much more my speed. I don’t think I’d be very good at getting up in front of a big room of people and talking. There would be a lot of umms and likes and pauses I’m sure.
On the evening before the meeting, we had a beautiful outdoor reception at the Grand Floridian. My sweet friend Jenny (Picky Palate) and I met some great girls. Nikki (Pennies on a Platter), Krissy (Krissy’s Creations), Julie (Table for Two) and Rachel (The Fabulous Foodie). Hi girls. Thanks for making Magic Kingdom such a blast!
We hit up a few rides and went on a search for Dole Whip and churros before the park closed. It was my first time trying either. So yum! Thanks for sharing these phone pics girls.
We spent all day Saturday at Epcot where the meeting was held.
It was definitely a special place to have a meeting. Not only were there great speakers, yummy treats, amazing prizes, like stand mixers and refrigerators, Le creusets and more but when we were done, we had a huge world to explore.
If only I could have seen it all. I’ve never been to Epcot. I had no idea how ginormous this park was. Actually, I still don’t know how big it is. But that’s okay because what I did see was perfect.
We had an incredible lunch extravaganza prepared by Disney chefs from the parks and hotels.
I focused on dessert of course.
Lunch gave us all more time to talk.
Here’s Lauren’s Latest, Julie, Krissy and Jenny.
And I finally finally met Elise from Simply Recipes. Yay! Hope we can chat more next time.
Alison and Jenny. Love you guys.
And sweet, sweet Julie. Again, great job on pulling this event together.
On Sunday we had a brunch hosted by Whole Foods. Incredible food means the cameras come out.
See what I mean. That’s Dawn in the back, Julie and Jenny, and then Lindsey (Love and Olive Oil) in the front.
This might be one of my favorite pics from the weekend. It just makes me giggle at how we all do the same thing as bloggers. It’s almost uncontrollable when you have a camera in your hand.
But in our defense, the flowers were pretty cheery.
I enjoyed this weekend so much.
Hi Emily (Sage Recipes) and Kiran (Kirantarun)! It was nice meeting you both. Hope to see you again. And you too Droolius and Simply Southern Baking.
Thanks for a weekend of great memories with old friends and new!

So now the fun part.
I’m having an amazing giveaway today.
If you read last week’s post, you may remember some of the new products I talked about from the Home and Housewares Show in Chicago. One of them was this Kitchenaid mixer in Crystal Blue, the brand new color from the Catalina Collection that I fell in love with.
Well, I met some of the folks from Kitchenaid in Chicago for the first time and and then coincidentally, we met again in Orlando the very next weekend as they were one of the sponsors of Food Blog Forum. It was a surprise to see them two weeks in a row. We talked about how much I loved the brand new color they debuted in Chicago and we thought it would be a fun giveaway here on bakerella.com.
Want to brighten up your kitchen and be one of the first people to own a mixer in this brand new, bright blue color courtesy of Kitchenaid? I know I would. It’s such a happy color. And much more vibrant in person.
Enter for a chance to win this Crystal Blue 5-quart Artisan Stand Mixer from Kitchenaid!
- Just leave a comment on this post here on the website and answer the following question.
- If you could only eat one kind of sweet/dessert for the rest of your life, what would choose? And not just cookie or cupcake, etc. – but what kind if you can? I’m very curious.
- Deadline to enter is Wednesday, March 28th at 5 pm ET.
SORRY, TIME’S UP! Winner Announced Below.
- One winner will be chosen at random and announced sometime Wednesday evening.
GOOD LUCK GUYS!
oh and FYI – the Crystal Blue color should be available for purchase starting sometime in April.
Reading all of your sweet choices are driving me crazy. I have cravings now for way too many treats.
I don’t know if I could pick just one either. But warm brownies and ice cream are always a safe bet for me. No nuts. No whipped cream. No syrup. Plain and simple chocolate and vanilla. Warm and cold deliciousness.
Okay, ready for the winner?
It’s comment #6224 – Leann
Congratulations and enjoy your bright blue baby. Hope you make lots of amazing desserts and smile every time you look at it.
And big thanks to Kitchenaid for supplying the mixer in this beautiful blue.
If I had to choose just 1, it would be…the chocolate cake from Costco. It’s the chocolat-iest, fudg-iest most delicious and most terrible-for-you chocolate treat out there! I have it every year on my birthday :)
wow this sounds like such an amazing and fun event. and i love the picture of everyone taking pictures. :)
wow if i could only eat one dessert forever i think that would be so hard. i really want to choose something with chocolate but i feel like it might get too sweet or too rich day after day. i might have to say a really good apple pie, a la mode, please. with a buttery, crisp crust and tart apples seasoned with cinnamon and all those other good things. yeah i am going to go with pie. at least for today. :)
thanks for this fantastic giveaway!
You can never go wrong with a chocolate chip cookie! Always good, and never disappoints!
Coconut cream pie… with some chocolate thrown in to satisfy my cravings. I love pie crust and coconut. This would keep me going for a long time.
If I could eat one dessert for the rest of my life it would be cheesecake! It’s so versatile, plus so very delicious on it’s own.
I could eat creme brulee every single day. Yum! It is amazingly delicious.
One dessert for the rest of my life??? Good old fashioned chocolate cake :) The blue color is amazing!!!
Salted caramel for sure! :)
I really hope I win, I don’t have a mixer and I love to bake!
If I could eat one sweet for the rest of my life it would be S’mores. Especially when made in cookie form. So good!
My husband makes the most amazing vanilla bean creme brulee, and I’m pretty sure if that’s the only dessert I could eat for the rest of my life, it would be a very happy life. :)
My favorite dessert would have to be mango cake frosted with mango and cream cheese frosting. I cannot make it all the time because good mangoes are only available during spring :(
Brownies! I’m a baker / sugar artist for mostly wedding cakes but i would choose brownies.
Brownies. Not box brownies or store bought brownies, but the recipe my mom made when we were kids, the one I still make all the time. The one I just ate this morning. Life isn’t complete without these brownies.
Apple pie a la mode. YUM!
I would pick chocolate chip cookies
I would have to go with my dads black forest mini cheese cakes! Little chocolate cheesecakes with sweet sour cream topping and cherries! they are the best thing ever! Love kitchenaid mixers, I even have a change jar dedicated to saving for one…
Such a hard question! I think it’s a toss up between cheesecake and decadent brownies. Put them both together, maybe? ^^
Mmmhhhh, just reading all the answers is making my mouth water :)
Just 1 dessert??!!
I would have to say Red Velvet Cupcakes….followed closely by a good ol fashioned Pumpkin Pie!!! :)
& LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new color of the mixer!!! :) :) :)
Chocolate chip cookies! My moms recipe of course.
If I could only east one dessert for the rest of my life it would be chocolate cream pie, with lots of yummy fresh whipped cream! YUMMMM!
Although I have to say that a Dole Whip float could be a close second ;)
I would have to choose Strawberry Sourbelts.
I would have to pick tirimisu. It is so creamy and I love the taste of coffee/espresso in it!
If I could only choose one, it would be salted caramel dipped in chocolate!
I would pick chocolate chip cookies, because it was the first thing I ever baked and reminds me of my childhood!
It looks like you had a wonderful time. Your looking so good. Hope your feeling as well as you look. I live very close to Disney World and havent been for a while. Your pics make me want to go back. Thanks for sharing. Mayla
i could live off of pound cake!
Only one?!?! Oh alright! Cheesecake. LOVE cheesecake. Any kind of cheesecake! Cheesecake bars, cheesecake brownies, cheesecake tarts?
CHEESECAKE!!
Love your site by the way!
Tough question, BUT! I’d have to say that I’d pick Angel Food Cake. It’s so customizable (drizzle with chocolate! Garnish with a side of berries! PUT IT ON THE DAMN GRILL!), and simple and delicious.
Only one dessert? Hmm… I’d have to go w/ the dessert I got at Distrito (Philadelphia) for my birthday last year. It’s called El Fuerte for Two and I split it w/ my BFF.
It’s a flourless chocolate cake with vanilla mousseline, spicy peanuts & espresso ice cream. I didn’t get the peanuts, but oh-em-gee – was this an amazing dessert.
Brownies. I love just a good plain (no nuts, no icing) brownie. It has to be chewy and moist. I am not a fan of the dry ones. Yum! I could eat them everyday for the rest of my life!
I would say the Mint Chip Chocolate Cookie from insomnia cookies [or homemade if I knew where to buy those chips for less $$$ than online 20/pack]. They are incredibly delicious….I can feel my diet wavering :P
I would go for sabayon ice cream, served in waffle cone, mouth watering just to think about it. :-)
Definitely creme brule!
Definitely something chocolate, covered with chocolate. How about a chocolate chocolate chip cake pop covered with dark chocolate and sprinkles
My all time go to fav…..home made chocolate cake (just your basic recipe) and Aunt Helens Buttercream Frosting. its just yummy….only five ingredients (milk, flour, butter and granulated sugar and real vanilla). I love all desserts but if I only had one… this would be it!!
Ahh- just one dessert?? Hmm…that’s a tough one. It would hands down have to be something with pb and choc! Scotcharoos or cheesecake probably!
Great giveaway!
I love sweets, so this is a hard decision! But, as of this moment in time, I’d have to say a Chocolate Satin Pie would be my choice. Smooth, rich, and delicious. I’d be a happy girl! :)
No one has mentioned anything with Nutella in it ;)
Nutella filled Sugar Cookies gets my vote. So addictive I think it’s definitely possible to only eat this forever =D
My favorite sweet is a fruit… asian pears!! So yummy!
Brownies, without question.
Chocolate/peanut butter icecream:-) I want your job!
hmmm, i think it would be rum cake! i heart some rum cake!
Under this blonde hair is a Cookie Monster patiently waiting to escape. I love cookies. My all time favorite … soft chocolate chip with oatmeal and nuts. I’m in heaven!!
If I was limited to only one kind of dessert for the rest of my life, it would still be chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. I seriously can’t get enough of that classic, gooey ice cream treat! :0)
Chocolate fondue! It’s kind of a cop-out answer, because there are so many things you can dip in it (fruit, grahams, pretzels, candy, bacon. . . ). Honestly, there are too many great tastes out there to narrow it down!
Hot fudge brownie sundae with whipped cream and peanut butter sauce, hold the cherry.
Lindt Truffles by Lindor Chocolates or Nuttella :)
i would totally live off roasted almond ice cream with biscotti chunks for the rest of my life.
Chocolate Truffles all the way through chocolate.

I would chose a chocolate covered coconut macaroon. MMMMmmm—– My favorite, EVER!!!
Definitely chocolate chip cookies….
I’d have to say dark chocolate brownies. Firm on the edges, soft and gooey in the middle!
This is a tough one….a tossup between cheesecake and ice-cream. Hmmm….I think I will have to go with ice cream. A very good vanilla ice cream, but I have to be able to go with different toppings and/or mix-ins. Peanut butter has to be in there once in awhile too, along with caramel and every so often chocolate.
Häagen-dazs, chocolate peanut butter ice cream. To die for. Love, love, love the chunks of peanut butter mixed in the chocolate ice cream. This stuff beckons me from the freezer. I can actually feel the pull, tugging at me…kind of like a magnetic draw. Obviously I only buy it once in a while….if that was always in my freezer, I’d weigh a thousand pounds… :)
Meringues! I’d love to win this mixer so they’re easier for me to make!
Chocolate Raspberry Torte!
i love all desserts!!!! but i guess it would have to be a coconut cream pie. i made this with my mother and still don’t have perfection as she did. but if it taste great half the battle is won!!!
thank you for this opportunity to win this mixer.
Frozen custard from Ted Drewes in St. Louis, Missouri. I would have it shipped to wherever I lived….it’s amazing.
Oreo Cheesecake Cookies from Brown Eyed Baker. I’m an Oreo fiend and these are delicious. I’ve brought them to many cookie exchanges and they are always a huge hit.
Here is the link to them if anyone is interested in trying them!

I know it’s SOOOOO boring but I would have to say chocolate cake with chocolate frosting… YUMMMM!!!
If I could eat any dessert for the rest of my life, it would be chocolate cake pops made with Betty Crocker’s gluten free cake mix. I have celiac disease and it has wrecked my previous overwhelming love of all things dessert. But the chocolate cake pops are the perfect amount of chocolate and moistness! YUM!!!
M&M Christmas cookies…we’ve made them every year of my life (33 so far!) and it’s not the holidays without them. The recipe makes a ton, and we give them to neighbors, etc.
Hi Bakerella!
If I could eat one dessert for the rest of my life it would be your S’more’s cupcakes!!!!! – straight out of the oven!!! :)
The sweet dessert I would eat for the rest of my life would be my grandmother’s recipe for pound cake. It was the first desert she ever showed me how to make and it need a lot of time and love to be made. She hand whipped it for 20 minutes. She taught me this recipe when i was 8 and i am now 19 and it always comes out perfect if made correctly. It’s not overpoweringly sweet so you can have it for breakfast with coffee, lunch instead of cornbread with chili, or with chocolate sauce and ice cream. You can never get sick of it. You can put it as the base for a tiramisu or parfait. It’s absolutely perfect!
I could eat cheesecake everyday!
If I could only pick one sweet to eat for the rest of my life I would pick Vanilla Birthday Cake with Vanilla Frosting, that way I could celebrate every day!!!
It would be red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and milk chocolate shavings.
The lucky dessert would be Lemon and Blueberry cupcakes with lemon curd filling topped off with lemon frosting. :) heavenly delicious. Looked like you had a FUNtabulous time on your trip. Great pictures!
My favorite dessert are these carrot cake mini-cupcakes that I love to make. The cream cheese frosting and the tiny cute cupcake liners make the whole experience amazing. It incorporates cuteness and taste, two of my favorite things! Great giveaway, thanks!!
I love chocolate chip cookies! They are classic but delicious!
mexican wedding cake cookies with lots of powdered sugar!
I would defo pick Tiramisu, I don’t if you ever had the chance to try the real Italian one…. but I think the “mascarpone cheese” cream used for this dessert is the best best best thing I’ve ever tasted :)

I would eat macarons from Paulette!!!
Chocolate molten lava cake!
Hmmm…to choose just one. I really, really love coconut cream cupcakes. I could maybe eat those daily.
A hot fudge sundae with chocolate ice cream. but the ice cream can’t be smooth. Has to have something “crunchy” in it like toffee or chocolate chips or something.
Thanks for the chance! It’s a gorgeous color.
I love the spring colors. Lively colors makes baking that much more fun!
I would have to choose just plain pound cake, because I don’t like extreme sweets and it is definitely my favorite!

Bread pudding! It is my all-time favortie dessert!! YUMMM!!
Mmm…sugar cookies royal icing all the way!
Ohhhhh – LOVE that blue!!!! WOW! Thank you for sharing with us!
Your trip to Disney looks amazing… and looking at all those desserts makes me drool for the one thing I’d love to have every single day (if I didn’t have the caloric price to pay!): Chocolate cream pie with Chocolate Cookie crust. Mmmmmmmmmmmm…..
no doubt in my mind…it would be black bottom cupcakes. Yummmm!
Vanilla bean creme brulee. Hard to beat.
Red Velvet Cheesecake (Cheesecake Factory) and a Red Velvet Cupcake (Sprinkle’s Cupcakes)
Peanut Butter cup cupcakes/cake/cookies– anything that involves peanut butter combined with chocolate. My god- it’s 10 am in the morning and I’m already craving a peanut butter cup- yumm!
I would eat these chocolate brownies my 3rd grade gifted teacher used to make. I swear, her bringing those in waslike Christmas for all of us. They were perfect and soft and gooey, and she managed to keep the choclate chips whole and unmelted, which always stumped us. Sprinkled with sugar. Yum!
Chocolate Chip cookies are my weakness!
I have recently developed a love of baking that started with your Biscoff Cheesecake Bars. Since then I’ve been on a mission to collect and test as many desserts as I can from Pinterest, and so far my absolute favorite are Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Cookies. I have made about a dozen batches of them and they never get old!
Thank you for the opportunity to enter this contest! I’ve already burned out my hand mixer with my new hobby! ;)

Portuguese custard cups! DELISH!
If I could only choose 1 dessert to eat for the rest of my life it would probably be cheesecake with nilla wafer crust….no toppings just plain. I love it but I’m lactose intolerant so I never get it! Soy cheesecake is just not the same.
ohh, i would love to have that beautiful blue Kitchen Aid Mixer for my kitchen!!! I went traditional the first time i bought a Kitchen Aid Mixer and got plain white, while it gets the job done, i am sure this beautiful blue one would make the work so much more fun!!! thanks bakerella for this opportunity!!!!
Almond-extract infused frosted sugar cookies. If I could eat without consequence, those would be breakfast, lunch & dinner from here on out!!
Kringlers, the Swedish cookie that I make at Christmas time. My Greek grandmother (“Yiayia”) got the recipe from a Swedish neighbor back in the old days. It’s kinda labor intensive, but it’s a true labor of love.
I’d choose sticky toffee pudding- a mix between cake and bread pudding, made with dates and lots of ginger, finished off with a caramel sauce and served warm…. May have to go make some right now!
I’m voting classic – vanilla bean cupcake topped with white vanilla buttercream and colourful quins/sprinkles on top!
homemade apple and cinnamon muffins. I never get sick of them. Hot, cold, 3 days old – they’re always delicious
My Grannie’s scones I think… they’re rich and full of sultanas and spice, and are perfect with a smear of butter!
chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, plain and simple
I would have a chocolate cupcake with a marshmallow/caramel center covered in chocolate ganache, then chocolate buttercream frosting and sprinkled with chopped walnuts! At least one a day! Just think how fun it would be to make in a new blue kitchen aid mixer! :o) Thanks for all the fun and drooling you bring!
My go to, all-time favorite dessert is dark, deep, dense, silky chocolate candy.
If I could only eat one dessert for the rest of my life it would have to be homemade banana pudding. I never ever ever get tired of it!
That’s a gorgeous blue! I would say… chocolate chip cookies! Classic and wonderful. :)
If I had to choose one dessert it would be cheesecake….yummmmm. Any flavor would suffice.
Brownies, no nuts. Looks like you had a wonderful weekend. Thanks for the opportunity to win this beautiful mixer.
I’m going with a family classic recipe my dad made–Tiger Cookies, featuring crumbled Frosted Flakes, chocolate chips swirled through the batter (Tiger Stripes) and vanilla, sugar, eggs, butter…all the good stuff!!! Teh recipe came off of an old cereal box, and I make these when I need some comfort cookies.
My dad’s spiked pecan pie. Comforting flavors, good mix of textures, and it’s PIE. How could I go with with any other dessert? Besides, I’m really close with my dad, if the only dessert I ever ate was something I could make and share with him, I’d be happy.
Definitely I would need a Denny’s CAramel Apple Crisp!!!!! So delicious!!!

I would choose s’more cupcakes… specifically the ones from Magnolia Bakery. They are SOOO good!

My Fudge Raspberry brownies was my first thought, but after I realized that would be my only dessert, I think I’d prefer something a little more subtle – either soft sugar cookies or a lemon cookie.
I would eat the chocolate pudding from Hominy Grill in Charleston, South Carolina. The recipe is in their cookbook and it’s only $13!!
My favorite dessert is banana pudding, and no one can make it like my grandmother could! I wish she were still here to make it for me. My sister-in-law comes close though, and she makes it for me at christmas and my birthday, which I greatly appreciate!
It’s not baking, but I would choose homemade vanilla custard icecream. You can dress it up any way you’d like. Serve cookies with it or fruit or have it plain. It’s all good!
This is so hard! Probably, Triple Chocolate Cheesecake!
My all time favorite dessert is my grandmothers homemade Fudge – with Peanut Butter Swirls. Its so rich, but oh so good! The swirls of peanut butter througout is like a dream! Making fudge with her is one of my most treasured memories! Loved weekends with grandma!
Was just referred to your site by a friend. Love your treats! Those Mickey Mouse-shaped cookies in pastel frosting look amazing.
If I could only pick one treat for the rest of my life, I’d have to pick chocolate covered strawberries. I get bored of cookies and cupcakes, but chocolate covered strawberries will always be delicious! And healthy somewhat, right?! ;)
This is tough. I’d probably have to go with sorbet. or otter pops. But that’s probably just my pregnancy talking.
I know this sounds too simple, but I would eat strawberry shortcake all the time! With fresh strawberries, of course.
I would choose my Mom’s apple pie with crumb topping!
Lemon meringue pie, with chocolate covered pretzels sprinkled over the top. That’s possibly cheating, but I really couldn’t pick between the two!

If I could eat only one dessert forever, it would be dark chocolate. Doesn’t have to be in cake form or anything, just plain old dark chocolate. Yum!

Chocolate chip ginger molasses cookies. Hands down. No contest. Game over.
I love that mixer and it would look so cute in my new apartment!
Probably would be warm chocolate chip cookies :)
hmmm..I have to chose just one desert? Well, probably would be strawberry shortcake. I can eat this all year long and never get tired of it. There are so many variations, I think I could come up with a different variation for nearly every month so I wouldn’t get burned out on it. :)
Looks like your trip was awesome – so appreciate your blog and all the info you provide. Thanks!!!!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies!
Well…I am not much of a sweets person, I just love to make them for everyone else. The one sweet that I do love is white chocolate…My mom used to go to this place called Three Rivers and she would get me what looked like fried eggs, but it was white chocolate shaped like a fried egg and they used coloring for the yolks…and it was all made with some really good white chocolate.
Thank you for all of your inspiration and also for the opportunity to win this amazing mixer. I have always wanted a counter top mixer.

peanut butter brownie trifle. nuff said
Being gluten-intolerant, I’ve had to give up some of my favorite treats, but if there were a gluten-free fairly out there, I would request a GF pain au chocolate. When I was in France last year, I ate one every day, tummy ache be darned. Once I got home, I went back to clean living, but I can still remember the delicate, flaky pastry and the smooth chocolate inside. Delicious!
I would say my #1 weakness is homemade chocolate chip cookies, with LOTS of chocolate chips and vanilla :) I could eat the dough raw or baked, but either way I would die happy!
If I could only eat 1 dessert the rest of my life then sign me up for creme brulee!!! Yum!
Chocolate Mousse
Chocolate lava cake!
If I could only eat one dessert for the rest of my life, it would be homemade chocolate chip cookies. Nothing can beat warm-out-of the oven chocolate chip cookies.
If I had to pick just one, I guess I’d choose chocolate chip cookies. Because there is almost nothing in the world that comes close to this chocolatey goodness. Plus you can always eat the cookie dough. So basically, you get two sweets. Way to beat the system.
