Okay, so I’ve been out of town for the last two weekends. First, Chicago for the Home and Housewares Show…
and last weekend somewhere a little bit warmer.
I was in sunny Florida for a weekend conference full of learning and sharing with friends – and a bunch of food and fun thrown in.
Food Blog Forum Orlando. Put on by Jaden Hair of Steamy Kitchen, Todd & Diane of White On Rice Couple, Julie Deily of The Little Kitchen and Dawn Viola.
And sponsored by Disney, Kitchenaid, OXO, Land O’ Lakes, Whole Foods, Le Creuset and more.
The meeting was held at Walt Disney World and it was amazing. So well done. Julie from the Little Kitchen knows how to put together a great event. I was there with a bunch of great speakers. (See the whole group here) Alison Lewis (Ingredients, Inc.) and I spoke at round table discussions on writing a cookbook. I really enjoyed the round table set up because we were able to talk one-on-one with people and that’s much more my speed. I don’t think I’d be very good at getting up in front of a big room of people and talking. There would be a lot of umms and likes and pauses I’m sure.
On the evening before the meeting, we had a beautiful outdoor reception at the Grand Floridian. My sweet friend Jenny (Picky Palate) and I met some great girls. Nikki (Pennies on a Platter), Krissy (Krissy’s Creations), Julie (Table for Two) and Rachel (The Fabulous Foodie). Hi girls. Thanks for making Magic Kingdom such a blast!
We hit up a few rides and went on a search for Dole Whip and churros before the park closed. It was my first time trying either. So yum! Thanks for sharing these phone pics girls.
We spent all day Saturday at Epcot where the meeting was held.
It was definitely a special place to have a meeting. Not only were there great speakers, yummy treats, amazing prizes, like stand mixers and refrigerators, Le creusets and more but when we were done, we had a huge world to explore.
If only I could have seen it all. I’ve never been to Epcot. I had no idea how ginormous this park was. Actually, I still don’t know how big it is. But that’s okay because what I did see was perfect.
We had an incredible lunch extravaganza prepared by Disney chefs from the parks and hotels.
I focused on dessert of course.
Lunch gave us all more time to talk.

I don’t know if I could pick just one either. But warm brownies and ice cream are always a safe bet for me. No nuts. No whipped cream. No syrup. Plain and simple chocolate and vanilla. Warm and cold deliciousness.

That’s a tough one… I think I’d go with my applesauce cupcakes. Not too sweet, moist, and a little bit spicy. I think it would take me a while to get tired of them.
Oh no question. Chocolate cupcake with milk chocolate frosting and sprinkles. I love so many other fun flavors but chocolate is something I couldn’t live without.
I would honestly have to choose Barbara’s Bakery Fig Bars. Love. With a cup of green tea!
This is a hard question, because I love sweets so much! At first I thought it would be red velvet cupcakes with the lovely cream cheese frosting, but then if that is all I’m eating… I’d be sick by the end of the day. So, I will have to go with brownies… No nuts, and not fully baked. Yum!

My absolute all-time dessert would be a fresh fruit galette – pie crust filled with lightly sweetened cream cheese and topped with peaches, blueberries and raspberries. Served warm. I adore chocolate, but I could eat this rustic “pie” everyday!
FYI, this crystal blue KitchenAid mixer would match the colors I am planning for my bakery. I hope to open this year!

Cheesecake…definitely cheesecake. My favorite to make and eat is Pumpkin/Chocolate cheesecake with chocolate crust and chocolate ganache on top.

Today is my birthday!!! I love this blog, it’s such a nice gift to wake up to this opportunity. If I could eat a dessert for the rest of my life it would proubably be something with chocolate, ganache or strawberry. Like strawberry cheesecake or chocolate mouse pie with strawberries. I wonder if you, bakerella can make a strawberry cholocate covered chocolate filled mouse pie ball or a cheesecakeball filled with strawberries. If so I would proubably eat it as a dessert for the rest of my life. As for now I’ll stick to a classic strawberry cheesecake.

I could eat chocolate chip bars everyday!!! They resemble a cookie, a cake and a brownie all in one.. With a crispy, yet chewy and cakelike texture, they are the most amazing snack ever!
This isn’t going to be fancy, but I cannot resist any kind of ice cream with a vanilla base. Growing up my uncle owned an ice cream factory, and I lived for a visit to his business. Just think–walking into a gigantic freezer filled with ice cream and being able to choose anything. I happily blame my uncle for my addiction.
Frozen yogurt with strawberries & pineapple…. I could eat it for a dessert or breakfast or lunch…. or a snack… anytime really. Yum..
I have a terrible sweet tooth but if I had to narrow it down to one I’d have to go with a brownie sundae. Made with my homemade brownies, vanilla ice cream, tons of hot fudge, chocolate sprinkles, whipped cream and of course, the cherry on top!

I am so torn, but I would have to pick homemade chocolate cake with homemade buttercream frosting. The cake would be so moist that it would melt in your mouth with each bite. The frosting would be smooth as silk.

My favourite sweet is the lemmon pie, a pie with lemmon curd and a soft vanilla flavored meringe. It’s a simple,fresh and delicious recipe. I can have it as a dessert, for breakfast or in the afternoon with a good coffee.

My choice is Lemon Meringue Pie, it’s dreamlike and covers three bases: meringue, curd, and pie crust. How many desserts do that much? Maybe if I started to get bored I could eat the three layers in different orders to keep myself entertained. :D

I would have a dessert we make and call Chocolate Delight. It’s a crust of flour,butter,pecans,sugar, then layers of chocolate pudding, cream cheese and cool whip and more pudding and cheese mixture. Topped with whipped cream. It’s layers of delight!

I’d choose a chocolate flourless torte–something like the inside of a chocolate truffle. Something so rich & creamy just a spoonful a day would satisfy! yummmmm!
If I could eat one dessert forever, it would be rasmalai, a sweet Indian dessert composed of disks of pressed curd soaked in a creamy, sweet cardamom milk. So good.

If I could only pick one dessert to eat for the rest of my life it would be, boy this is hard because I have several that I truly love but, I would go with angel food cake smothered in whipped cream and strawberries. Yummy!
Although it is a very hard decision, my favorite dessert is a warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate fugde sauce with a dab of whipped cream. That fabulous blue mixer would be just the thing to whip up that cream – what a beautiful shade!
My birthday is also this Wednesday Sarah #100! I hope to make my very favorite dessert of all times: a Belgian dark chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. I use raspberry preserves between the layers and have been known to eat it for breakfast with cottage cheese and a cup of coffee with lots of milk – seriously delicious!!

I love eclairs. I even have the experience of making them. I was a teenager when I did and I remember making 3-4 batches along with the cream for the inside for the people that my mom worked with. I loved to make them and love to eat them.

I’m going to have to go with the peanut butter cookies with the hershey’s kiss stuck into the middle….those things are good any time, any place!!!
I could be happy the rest of my life if the only dessert I could eat was my Mom’s Sour Cream Apple Pie. Not only is it delicious, but one taste brings back memories of my childhood and it was the first thing I ever learned to bake. I’ll be turning 40 this Thursday, what a cool present if I win! This is a tough choice, but I’d have to go with Creme Brulee. It’s my absolute favorite! I’ve never met a creme brulee I didn’t like :)
If I had to narrow down to only one dessert, I think I would have to go with cheesecake covered with strawberries. Although I love it so much, it would be a heartbreak to give up everything else!

What a tough question dessert wise – usually for my birthday I request ice cream cake because I love the crunchy center (only from Dairy Queen), but if I had to choose one dessert, I would go back to my childhood – my parents used to make me dirt cake for my birthday – complete in a pot, with flowers, and gummy worms. It was a delicious combination of chocolate pudding, cool whip and oreo cookies…so good!
Blackforest cake. Just love the moist and deep dark chocolate taste.
I’d go with red velvet cupcakes with a vanilla buttercream frosting. Simple but they are AMAZING! That blue is my favorite color, it’d be awesome to win!
A warm chewy chocolatey brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. Yum-my!
Lemon poundcake with fresh lemon and sugar syrup poured over as soon as it comes out of the oven. I love anything lemon! Sam’s used to make these wonderful Lemon Bites. THEY were addictive but they don’t male them anymore :(.. But that’s ok. Make my own lemon cake and just the other night I topped it off with fresh stawberries. So delish!!

snickerdoodles! they are the perfect combo of sweet with a hint of spice from the cinnamon all in a buttery, soft cookie. btw, i finally wore out my trusty kitchenaid of 11 years, a new one to replace it would be fantastic.
Maybe right now my favorite dessert would be double-chocolate cheesecake(whitechocolate&milkchocolate), just amazing<3 Or maybe triple.. I just haven't tasted it as triple yet. But like sweetie I would eat just lot of Marabou's milkcreme filled easter chocolate eggs, omnomnomn… Because I just adore chocolate, it's my love!
Hands down, no-bake-cookies or eskimo cookies. The rich cocoa mixed with creamy peanut butter and steal cut oats right out of the freezer is heaven. Chocolatey, peanut buttery heaven.
Cheesecake-it’s what a very good friend of mine calls “Heaven in a Box”, or at least that’s what she calls my cheesecake! you can dress it up or dress it down!
If I could eat one dessert for the rest of my life it would absolutely be oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate chip cookies. Couldn’t decide which to make some I combined them all. Yum!
If I could eat only one dessert, it would be tiramisu. I love the stuff, and it’s a bit sentimental with me and my fiance. We had some on our first date, and he incorporated the restaurant/dessert on my “proposal scavenger hunt”. and more than anything…. its just simply scrumptious!

If I had to pick 1 sweet for the rest of my life….it would be chocolate chip brownies, without nuts. (the King Arthur Flour recipe with chocolate chips/chunks thrown in the batter) when eaten warm and slightly underbaked…mmm. I now want to leave work and go bake!

However, if I had too, it would certainly be good old chocolate ice cream. Chocolate Breyers Double Churn or Kawartha Dairys Death By Chocolate is my preference!!!

I would have to say that chocolate mousse would be the sweet that I would eat FOREVER! Love that stuff! It’s light and fluffy and just so darn good!

My one dessert would have to be angel food cake with seven minute frosting. It was my birthday cake as a kid, and it always makes me happy. And because angel food cake is reasonably fussy to make from scratch, I only got to eat it on that one occasion as a kid, and I rarely have time to make it now. So, it’s a special dessert for me.
I make cupcakes and so it would have to be the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcake. A fresh vanilla cupcake infused with mini
choc chips & cookie dough, with a homemade cookie dough frosting topped with a fresh mini baked cookie! Scrumptios!!! Alot of work but Sooo worth it!!!!
Danish layer cake… Yellow cake, French vanilla pudding, yellow cake, raspberry jam, yellow cake, French vanilla pudding, yellow cake… Covered in cool whip!

Disney is my favorite place in the whole world! If i had to choose, I think I would pick snickers cupcakes – chocolate cupcakes with snickers baked inside with caramel buttercream. YUM!

I would eat the Baltimore Bomb pie from Dangerously Delicious pies. If you’ve never been to the Baltimore/DC area, the pie is this amazing chess pie with Berger cookies (a Baltimore specialty) melted into it. Soooo yummy when its warm and the ganache from the cookies is all melted.
I can’t imagine choosing only one, but if I had to I’d go with chocolate cake!

Wow, I don’t think I have just one but my new kick is skillet chocolate chip cookies with a huge helping of vanilla icecream.
Serving dessert in a small cast iron skillet is my new thing right now. Yum!
One dessert for the rest of my life? I’d have to say that would be cream puffs. The kind my mother used to make – filled with pastry cream and covered with shiny chocolate ganache. So, so delicious!
My mum’s chocolate mousse cake……chocolate cake on the bottom, chocolate mousse on top, covered in ganache….. Heaven on a spoon!
I think my dessert would be ice cream. I wouldn’t be too picky about what kind or how it’s served as long as it didn’t have fruit in it. But if I had to choose? Probably a hot fudge sundae with real whipped cream and toasted almonds!
