Cook for the Cure

KitchenAid launched 1,000 Cooks for the Cure today and I’m thinking pink! And raspberry, too! (Enter below for a chance to win this beautiful berry colored mixer.) But first let me tell you a little about 1,000 Cooks for the Cure and how you can host a party to help an amazing cause at the same time. KitchenAid in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure helps raise funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. Their goal is to have 1,000 cooks host a party, potluck, bbq or any get-together large or small with friends or family anytime between July 18 and July 27. Cook for the Cure gives people with a passion for cooking a wonderful way to support a meaningful cause. Host an event and encourage guests to donate to Susan G. Komen® sometime during this week-long fun and fundraising initiative.

  44. I would love to have a stand mixer. While I can make most things with my hand mixer, buttercream is hit-or-miss and meringues turn out much better if I drive to my Mom’s house (40 minutes away) and use her (ancient) Kitchen Aid mixer. One day…sigh.

  123. I think I’d just throw a birthday party for either my niece or my nephew. Or perhaps my mom since her birthday is also coming up soon. As much as I despise pink..because it’s associated with breast cancer, I would be more than proud to have this berry mixer in my kitchen.

    I lost my grandma and my aunt to breast cancer in 2007, 5 months and 5 days apart from each other. It was a horrific thing to witness and I miss them every day. It’s a struggle to come to grips that disease may be my fate as well, but I’m also trying to stay positive that it won’t be in my cards for the future. :) Anyway..yeah. First thing I’d make in that is Grandma’s Chocolate Chip/Walnut cookies.

  128. Everyday in elementary school my recess “mom” would help me tuck my gloves under my coat sleeves so the snow wouldn’t get in. I usually stayed by her and talked with her almost everyday. I knee she had breast cancer and will never forget the day one of my teachers called to inform my parents she had passed away. I’m so glad to see your blog and KitchenAid team up with Susan G. Jome and many others around the globe to work together to fight breast cancer; this world does not need to lose any more wonderful and kind people like my recess “mom.”
