Cook for the Cure

KitchenAid launched 1,000 Cooks for the Cure today and I’m thinking pink! And raspberry, too! (Enter below for a chance to win this beautiful berry colored mixer.) But first let me tell you a little about 1,000 Cooks for the Cure and how you can host a party to help an amazing cause at the same time. KitchenAid in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure helps raise funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. Their goal is to have 1,000 cooks host a party, potluck, bbq or any get-together large or small with friends or family anytime between July 18 and July 27. Cook for the Cure gives people with a passion for cooking a wonderful way to support a meaningful cause. Host an event and encourage guests to donate to Susan G. Komen® sometime during this week-long fun and fundraising initiative.

I work with ONEHOPE wine as a wine consultant and we give 15% of wine fundraising sales back to the party cause of choice like #CookForTheCure!   85. I’m not super excited about the extensive pink-washing that is happening with Komen and others. (If you haven’t seen the documentary “Pink ribbons, Inc.” I highly recommend it.) However, I am sure I can put this mixer to good use – whether it’s by taking food to those in need, providing goodies for a bake sale, or just cooking for my friends and family.

  116. Before I post my response, I must say what an awesome cause! Every bit counts and helps towards finding a cure! I would love to win this Kitchenaide and with the winning, I would bake up a storm! More specifically, I would host a bread tasting party. I would make my SF inspired sourdough, some sweet bread, some cinammon rolls…and the list would go on and on. I would of course invite Bakerella herself and hope she would join. I would also remember those who have fought, won and lost the battle.

  135. I’m a cancer survivor going on 10 years now. I was 22 when diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It was miserable; however a few years later I became involved with fundraising via walks etc. It have my disease purpose! This is so up my alley and I work for a catering co. doing sweet and savory goodies. I LOVE kitchenaid and as much this color! I already throw lavish dinner parties for special occasions. I vow if I win I’ll do another just for this!!
