This is the first I have heard of Cook for the Cure, but it is an interesting coincidence that the ladies of our church are hosting a party tonight for one of our young ladies who lost her mother to breast cancer last year. It will be a time of remembering her mom, but also of pampering her and helping her remember to live her own life fully in order to honor her mom. We are cooking Lebanese cabbage rolls, which is one of her favorite family recipes that she fondly remembers her mother making for special celebrations.
The mixer is beautiful and the cause it supports is even more so.
I would host a cookie exchange.
I’d really want to host a get together with my best friends. One of them is about to take the CPA board exams this weekend and it’ll be awesome if I can host a relaxation dinner/sleepover/bonding time with her and our other friends! Many years ago I lost my grandmother to breast cancer. She was the one that got me into cooking in the first place. When other kids went outside to play; I was standing on a stool in her kitchen, learning how to cook and bake. I can really say my passion for baking came from her. She would always say “Add a little extra love!” normally this was in reference to butter or sugar but I swear you could taste the love in her dishes” I am hosting a party in her honor.
This mixer would be a wonderful addition to my kitchen. I am using my original kitchen aid mixer, that was given to me in 1979. I is ready for retirement to my daughter’s kitchen.
My friends and I love to bake and cook together! But given my last name, that’s no surprise. :)

Breast cancer has hit two very dear people to me in the past two years and it also gave me a scare, so I will try to do what I can to help out.
