Have you heard of these chicks before? I hadn’t until a few weeks ago. It was really kind of a weird little coincidence. I was in the bookstore picking up Pioneer Woman Cookbooks for a recent giveaway and my eyes locked in on a book called The Farm Chicks in the Kitchen. Loved the title and the design, but because I was over my limit on books for the day, make that month, all I did was thumb through the pages really quickly before I made myself leave.
But then, just two days later I received an email from none other than Serena, one of THE Farm Chicks. Seriously. Out of the blue. Two days later. Does stuff like that happen to you, too? Strange coincidences? It does to me all the time.
(Hmmm… The Pioneer Woman and The Farm Chicks. That’s kinda weird, too. Okay, I’m moving to the country.)
Anyway, it was a really short email message that said she wanted to send me something.
Curious, I said, ok. (I like surprises.)
And boy was I surprised when several days later I received a package full of all of these sweet, sweet gift tags.
Some with little cakes.
And others with sweet messages.
Plus there were all these fun recipe cards. (Forgive me for the extra blurriness. I was playing with different settings on my camera.)
Some even had Christmas themes.
I had no idea they had all these cute products plus a cookbook. Impressive.
Speaking of their book, I had to run out to the bookstore and get it right away.
Wish I had seen this before trying to make a pie last week. Could have come in handy.
The Farm Chicks love some pie. And the book has several yummy ones like this.
Plus, it has fun, do-it-yourself projects throughout. I’ve never made scones, but if I do, I want a scone cozy to go with them. Cozy scones. Yes. I want my scones to be cozy. Adorableness. Cuteness doesn’t quite cut it here.
Hi Serena. Thanks for sending me all the fun stuff. I love it.
Especially the necklace.
Oh, I forgot to tell you guys about the necklace. Well, it has a cake on the front of it and it’s just darling.
See.
And, since Serena sent me two of them… well…
Would you like one? Then, we can both look super cute, adorned in cake.
I’ll even throw in some of my gift tags and recipe cards, too. I’m a sharer.
(necklace, recipe cards and gift tags)

And, here’s the winner…
Wow, wow, wow, I am going to need the rest of the year to go through all of your favorites. So many things I like, too… especially fudge and so many that I have never even heard of. You guys should take a look through them if you get a chance and want some ideas for something new. Thank you for sharing. And the winner is… #2670… That’s you Heather. All you have to do to get your prize is send me some of your dad’s Keeflies. Just kidding. But really, I just looked those up and they sound great.
Spritz cookies! I love making the dough, tate testing the dough (several times), filling the press, making all the fun shapes the press has to offer, baking the fun shaped cookies, EATING those fun shapes when they are ready. With milk, please!
My favorite Christmas cookies is a recipe I got from my mother – in -law. I’t a chocolate bar, i’ts almost like the magic
bar but w/ a thick cholate center ther good on winter moring w/ a cup fo coffee watching the snow fall. If you don’t have to work
My Mom makes grasshopper pie, which is kind of like a mint chocolate ice cream pie (no grasshoppers, lol) and it is SO good. She swears it’s easy to make, but I’m perfectly happy just enjoying a piece when she makes it at christmas.
It’s somewhat new, but I love brown butter cookies.
I love home made caramels!
I LOVE chocolate covered nuts. Yummo!
my favorite is little christmas tree butter cookies! yum! and of course peanut butter blossoms! my grandma makes them every year =)
This is simple, but I love puppy chow!! Really I like all holiday food! I love making cinnamon rolls and breads to give away!
Though my family usually goes all out with the baking during the holidays, my 2 favorites (Don’t make me pick!) are Meringues with chocolate chips in them and Pretzel Salad… Which are the 2 easiest things to make and really don’t scream the holidays! Haha But they are both delicious! :)
My Christmas time guilty pleasure is Peppermint Stick Ice Cream – – I have even contemplated stocking up and storing some for mid-July when I need a Peppermint Stick Pick-Me-Up! However, the absolute best sweet for Christmas is my grandmother’s bread pudding. It’s so good!!!!
I make Candy Cane Bark, and tons of Poppycock!
It’s just not the Christmas season without either!
Thanks for the chance!
I love gingerbread cookies :-) I have such great memories of making cookies with my gram. A new treat that we like is making brownies in a mini muffin pan and sticking a Rollo or Reeses Peanut Butter Cup in the top of each one when they are still warm.
I like cookies :)
It’s great to know about the Farm chicks!
peppermint candy canes- simple and yummy!
I make homemade caramels at Christmas and they are always a hit.
My mother’s Danish Puff
My favorite dessert to make for the holidays is an Amaretto Pecan Pie. I made one for Thanksgiving and it was the best I had ever made.
my fav holiday dessert…. that’ is soooooo hard to choose. I think I would choose – apple bread! found the recipe on a local TV show many years ago. it’s so moist and yummy! I love to make little loaves and share with family and friends. thanks for putting my name in the hat!
Lorene H
Love frosted cut out cookies!
I literally just gasped at all of that cuteness!!! My favorite sweet at Christmas….hmmm…maybe gingerbread cookies because I don’t make them at any other time.
Creme brulee French toast. The only way to wake up on Christmas Day. Almost better than all the presents under the tree.
I love SOOO many Christmas goodies. But, right now I’m thinking mini cheesecakes. They’re just delicious!
My absolute favourite is lemon meringue pie! So delicious! Also, I’m a huge fan of butter cookies, which is what I am going to ask my Mom to make me when she comes into town tomorrow for my birthday! HOORAY for Mom visits and butter cookies!
That was incredibly sweet of the chicks to send you all those gifts! Nifty!
My favorite sweet at Christmas is fudge! The standard marshmallow fluff kind. It’s awesome, and I’m making some today!
My grandmother’s Old Fashioned Cream Pie…simple yet divine.
I love my mom’s russian butter ball cookies. Why is it I use the same recipe and hers always taste better. Must be a mom thing.
When I was alot younger my Grandmother would make a rich dark Christmas pudding with caramel sauce on it. Needless to say that I did not appreciate the time or the taste of this tasty dessert because it did not look appealing. But now at Christmas that is all I want to end the dinner. It is not Christmas without that. Grandma is gone but the family has galliantly tried to replace her recipe that was lost and the attempt is close and brings back alot of memories.
I know this sounds weird and awful, but my mother makes an amazing sausage cake. It is rich and thick with raisins and spices and…well…sausage. It is deep brown in color and the best way to start Christmas morning off…slice of sausage cake, an egg, and a cup of juice or coffee…
Most folks think they are going to gag when I mention it, but the brave who have tried the lovely thing are instant converts…
Vicki
I have several! First, I love fudge. My grandmother used to make fudge with Hersey kisses every Christmas, but she would make me a special batch without pecans because she knew I liked it plain. Second, bread pudding. I love to make bread pudding for Christmas, it’s just so comforting. Third, peppermint bark. I have to make a batch every year!
good ole cookies are great for christmas! must have the milk :)
My favorite would have to be all of the candy that people make. I love the peanut butter balls, the choc. dipped goodies, and pecan pie. YUMMY
7 layer chocolate cake. Mmmmm.
i love the almond shortbread with raspberry filling and grand marnier drizzle that i make. its heavenly!
aattorri@elon.edu
you are going to think its silly, but anything jam filled…its just something that reminds me of xmas in a way I cant explain…thumbprint cookies, kalockies…you name it!
For dessert, you cant go wrong with chocolate chip cookies(homemade, of course) !!
Without a doubt, it has to be pecan pie. Mmmm!
My favorite holiday dessert is my grandma’s German Chocolate Cake – made from scratch. Come to think of it, all of her food is made from scratch! That is love! : ) Happy Holidays!
Although homemade sweets are the ONLY way to go, especially for the holidays, I break the rule each season for Peppermint Ice Cream from a local favorite:
http://www.dewarscandy.com/ . OH MAN is this stuff gooooood! I usually have them make a shake out of it, but it is just as delish freshly scooped into a retro ice cream dish. I think my yearly holiday weight gain comes from one too many of these addicting shakes!
oooh, SUCH FUN, ADORABLE, KITCHY KITCHEN YUMMINESS!!! Thanks for the chance to win! My fave Christmas treat is English Butter Toffee made by my Mom
thumbprint cookies
I love chocolate mint cookies, or as I lovingly refer to them as… minters. My mother in law makes them, and they are the best!
jennifer.pollock712@gmail.com
I love big soft sugar cookies and my mom’s pecan roll.
I love to make homemade licorice caramels at Christmas time…mmm, delicious!
Ah, we call that strange coincidence “a plate of shrimp” in my family. It’s from some old movie (Repo Man?).
From Urban Dictionary:
Synchronicity. Derived from the 1984 film “Repo Man”.
“Suppose you’re thinking about a plate of shrimp. Suddenly somebody will say like ‘plate’ or ‘shrimp’ or ‘plate of shrimp’, out of the blue, no explanation. No point in looking for one either; it’s all part of the cosmic unconsciousness.”
I love peppermint bark this time of year!
My favorite sweet is a reminder of my childhood and the cookies that my grandmother used to make–iced sugar cookies. They are still my favorite.
oatmeal scotchies are my absolute fave – love your blog and always look forward to it!!!!!!!!!!
Apple Crisp!!!
Christmas isn’t Christmas without sugar cookies!!
So super cute!
Every Christmas Eve for as long as i can remember, my dad has made his famous homemade fudge. Back when I was little we always left fudge out for Santa. It is one of our longest standing family traditions and Christmas wouldn’t be the same without it!
Gotta have fudge at Christmas!
my mom’s sugar cookies! they’re delicious all year, but for some reason- they always taste better at christmas!
thanks, bakerella!
Hey Bakerella! I have to say that my great-grandmother’s peanut butter candy is my all time – any time favorite. The recipe is written with things like peanut butter the size of an egg, etc. And when it’s ready you pour it onto a buttered dinner plate to harden. I always let my mother think I can’t make it turn out right so she can make it for me. As a farm girl myself, city – even southern cooking isn’t quite the same as the MIdwest Women’s dishes brought to the family Christmas parties….
My favorite Christmas sweet is chocolate chip cookies. I am eating one right now!!! Breakfast, lunch and dinner until New Years Day!!!
My mom’s whipped shortbread with little glace cherries on top. It wouldn’t be Christmas without them!
That and fruitcake – but i’m the only one in the family that eats it! ;)
Since we have a hot Christmas down here I LOVE icecream!
My favourite holiday treat would have to be Orgasmic Caramilk Fudge. I only make it at Christmas time for people… so good!!!
Love the “Farm Chicks” having been a Farm Chick myself for over 40 years. Every Christmas I make fudge and tie cakes and sugar cookies, my family expects it. The trick is to find something creative to do each year, thanks for all the wonder ideas!
My favorite Christmas dessert would be my mom’s cookie plate…loaded with an assortment of cookies made with love…Perhaps it is time to move to the country…there is nothing like gathering fresh eggs from the hen house to do your holiday baking!
I love making almond spritz cookies, but I also enjoy eating my mom’s Million Dollar fudge and peanut butter balls. I pretty much enjoy all the Christmas goodies that come out though.
One of my favorite cookies for Christmas is Pfeffernusse. I hope to make them this year for the first time.
I also really love those gift tags! Every year I always look for new ones to use for all the goodies that I give away.
jace1 at rocketmail dot com
Definitely sugar cookies. With lots of icing. Delish.
I LOVE Chocolate Crinkle cookies. They’re the best!
~Mary
thinkpinkmary@gmail.com
I love having cherry pie at Christmas. I also love sugar cookies, as it doesn’t feel like Christmas with out them!
3-D sugar cookies- my husband and I started this tradition three years ago and make a table top design with them. Listening to Christmas music and decorating them together is ALMOST better than eating them… :)
Mint melt-aways – I love mint, these are easy to do, and kids can’t really mess them up so they’re great thing to keep them occupied while I make more difficult treats.
My favorite’s are buckeyes!!!!
My favorites are my mom’s homemade fudge and good ole thick and rich egg nog. Gotta love that fat! Mmmm…
My favorite holiday dessert is 7 layer cookies. Honestly I have yet to make these delicious goodies that my mother has mastered so I don’t know what all 7 layers are, but they are heavenly goodness.
funnygirl63@hotmail.com
Definitely gingerbread cookies!
Though I enjoy eating them any time of the year they always seem to taste just a little bit better this time of year.
Boiled Custard! YUM! And not the kind you get in the dairy section….the double broiler kind, that you spend an hour standing there slowly stirring, with all the eggs, sugar, and WHOLE milk goodness.
Homemade Banana Pudding, is pretty fantastic, too!
My favorite dessert for Christmas is a Hershey’s Chocolate cake with Chocolate frosting my Mom would make every Christmas!! It was delicious!!
I can be reached at vontresa@bellsouth.net
My aunt makes transparant pies which are soooo great. They are tiny little pies with a filling that looks like lemon pie filling but is simply butter, sugar and eggs. OH so rich and OH so good. Then we top them with homemade strawberry jam from the past summer and homemade whipped cream, cool whip just will not do! MMM I want one now!!
I know it’s simple, but the one thing I NEED to have to make Christmas more Christmassy is eggnog. It just wouldn’t feel like the holiday without it!!!
My favorite dessert is any kind of Christmas cookies…Im a sucker for cookies. My favorite would have to be the little cornflake wreath cookies. Theyre so festive and yummy.

JustAnsa@aol.com
My favorite christmas sweet is homemade rocky road fudge. My mom, sisters and I make it every year and it is the best.
I love, love, LOVE cheesecake through the holidays. For Thanksgiving, I made a pecan pie cheesecake. For Christmas, I’m sure it’ll end up being either a gingerbread cheesecake swirl like I’ve done before, or something with peppermint. YUM!
The Farm Chicks stuff is adorable! I love giving out homemade cookies and fudge, and even 1/2 of each cheesecake I bake! How perfect with those cute little tags!
I LOVE making my grandma’s Christmas Candy. I remember eating it as a kid, so its fun to make it now and share it with my friends and family.
definitely my mama’s homemade fudge. mmmmmm.
All of them! I could never pick just one sweet treat.
My Grandmother’s homemade chocolate pie or my sister in law’s peanut butter balls. Both are yummy.
I love anything with chocolate and peppermint. I will be browsing your blog for any recipes with those combinations. My cookie exchange is Friday and my daughters bday party saturday! Bake fest this week!
Have to say just about any kind of COOKIE!!!
My mom and I make pralines every year, oh I can’t wait for those! I love the Farm Chicks, thanks for the opportunity to win!
I love, love, love pumpkin scones. Especially with a yummy eggnog latte….Now I have to go to Starbucks….
Talk about coincidences… I JUST picked up that book to thumb through it a day ago!! It was beautiful, but I’d also reached my book quota :) Cinnamon rolls are my favorite Christmas sweet!
this…

so…
cute!!!!
I make all sorts of cakes, cookies, bread in the month of December and these would be adorable to put them in!!
I love homemade cinnamon roles.
Nestle Tollhouse Pie!
My favorite Christmas dessert is my mom’s bread pudding. I actually love it all year round.
This is definitely not your traditional dessert….BUT….I have a weird obsession for Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses. I dream about them all year long! Mmmm…white chocolate with red stripes and mint candy bits. Melt in your mouth goodness!
This is not technically a dessert, but the spiced bell-shaped gum drops! LOVE ‘EM!
My absolute favorite holiday dessert is Blow Out Cookies! I only make them once a year and everyone loves them. But how could they not? They’re full of choc chips, peanut butter, chopped peanut butter cups and roasted peanuts! The blow the diet right out of the water!
Egg Nog Cupcakes. Done and done. …No wait, Ginerbread Cupcakes. Yeah. No – Double Chocolate Cupcakes! That’s it. ….Ok, really just the Egg Nog Cupcakes. ………..Or maybe the Gingerbre—No. Egg Nog.
…….Double Chocolate. Really. That’s it. For reals. No lie——
Who are we kidding – it’s the Egg Nog Cupcakes.
Definitely my mother’s “cracker candy”. Like homemade toffee flavored covered saltines with pecans, chocolate and such. Soooo good!
My favorite is soda cracker crunch (soda crackers overlaid with a toffee layer and melted chocolate chips & topped with chopped walnuts). It doesn’t last long here at our house =)
Those tags look super cute! The book looks interesting too, worth checking out for sure.
My favorite Christmas sweet is a “cookie” called a Chocolate Bittersweet. It’s a cookie “cup” filled with sweet cream cheese, walnut and coconut filling, topped with melted chocolate. Seriously delicious.
I love the Farm Chicks.
I think my favorite Christmas sweet is anything that involves chocolate and pretzels.
mmm chocolate fudge or butterscotch bars, or wait, pecan pie. mmmmmmm.
For Christmas eve, I make Hungarian cookies following the recipes of my mother, her mother, her mother’s mother, etc. I’m not sure what their proper name is, but they are deliciously flaky and filled with poppyseed or almond filling and dusted with powdered sugar. My sister-in-law, who hails from Australia, brings a Yule log each year. Christmas has never tasted so good!
fudge!!!
I love all the different cookies that my aunt makes around this time of year.
I love all my Swedish childhood sweets. Home-made taffy, and the rice pudding after dinner. Yum.
christelmurdock@cox.net
Favorite dessert would have to be apple pie – just can’t go wrong with a classic! BTW, the Farm Chicks are so cool! I just love their stuff….
I’m pretty classic when it comes to Christmas goodies. I love sugar cookies w/sprinkles. Yummy!
I just made gingerbread caramel and it is my new favorite… YUMM!!
Spicy gingerbread men (and ladies!) win hands down every Christmas! We like to roll them extra thick so they bake up soft, then pull out all the jars of whimsical sprinkles and tubes of yummy buttercream frosting for decorating. Paired with a glass of icy milk, for us, they can’t be beat.
My mother sometimes makes candy cane cookies at Christmas, and they are my favorite! Peppermint flavored sweetness in cookie form.
My favorite holiday treat has got to be shortbread cookies. But they have to be the ones made with powdered sugar not granulated sugar. They just melt in your mouth!
Wow! Its hard to pick just one!! I’d have to say Vanilla Butter Roll-outs my mom and I make every Christmas. They are delish, but time consuming! Guess that’s why we only make them during Christmas!
homemade coconut bon bons
I love Christmas sugar cookies and pumpkin rolls!!
Those are adorable! It’s hard for me to pick one holiday sweet, since I love many of them, but I’d probably go with fudge with no nuts. That’s one thing I really only eat around the holidays.
Such cute, cute stuff!
I think my favorite has to be my grandmother’s chocolate fudge. Simple? Yes! But delicious!!!
Cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning, or maybe peppermint brownies. Really fancy hot chocolate goes over well with me, too!
So cute! Favorite dessert is my moma’s homemade chocolate coconut candy mounds. Yum!
My favorite holiday dessert is apple pie. The kind my grandma made and my mom made and that I hope to this year make for my daughter. It just screams “Christmas” to me.
My favorite recipe to make at Xmas time is toffee squares! They have a brownie-like consistency, with melted chocolate and nuts over the top…YUM! When I was younger, my mom would put the tins of them outside in our garage (we lived in Wisconsin), and they would always be nice and cold! I can’t eat them any other way now!
kolsen17@gmail.com
cookies. lots and lots of cookies!
My mom use to make “coconut strawberries”. These were the taste of Christmas for my brother and I. We would sit in the kitchen with my mom and shape the coconut pink “goo” into strawberry shapes, then roll them in strawberry jello powder. We were constantly being scolded for eating them as we made them! Topped with green icing for the leaves, this was one wonderful treat. YUM!!
My moms german chocolate cookies.
APPLE PIE!! I’m odd in that I don’t like many of the traditional pies (pumpkin, pecan, sweet potato) but I can’t get enough apple pie…this year will be my first attempt at making it myself so I’m hoping I can do my all time favorite justice in my attempt!
Bread pudding! Yum.
Hi there! I have been following your posts for quite some time and just love them!! I look forward to checking out the new post each Monday morning! Thanks!
This looks like a great book – I will have to check it out also.
My favorite Christmas treat are almond bars.
emclove@scinternet.net
I would have to say my mother’s famous pecan pie. The family always looks forward to it cause she only makes it during the holidays.
My favorite sweet (salty/sweet) is my grandmother’s peanut brittle…so yummy!
My favorite holiday sweet is cut out sugar cookies, made from my great-grandmother’s recipe. A definite must at Christmas time!
My fave Christmas Treat is chocolate chip cookies with a dash of cayenne pepper in the mix.
Mint chocolate chip cookies, my dad makes them.
My favorite holiday sweet treat is …. hmmm, too many to pick from …. I’ll say marshmallows rolled in caramel, then in rice krispies. My mom used to make them when I was younger and a few Christmases ago I started to make them too.
This time of year I always look forward to my mom’s sugar cookie cut-outs. I thinks she’s got the best recipe! I also love me some spritz cookies, in the shape of a Christmas tree with a red hot, in place of the star.
YUMMY!
My favorite holiday dessert is what we call “Frogs.” It’s a no-bake cookie that has cocoa, oatmeal, and coconut in it. It’s like fudge with a kick!
My favorite Christmas dessert is peppermint bark! yummmmy.
My fav cookie is gingerbread cookies (at Christmas). My mother used to make them and hang them on our Christmas tree. When I was in high school I worked in department stores at Christmas, and late at night after working a long hard shift, I’d come home and pull a gingerbread boy off the tree to eat. The house would be quiet and the only light was from the twinkling lights on the Christmas tree. Oh, the memories!
I’d love to win anything from the Farm Chicks!
Merry Christmas! ~Heidi
My favorite holiday treat is home made chocolate chip cookies, and a big ol’ glass of milk. Can’t ever go wrong with the classics that people of all ages love <3
spiced nuts and/or toffee! It’s a toss up:)
krista1127 at hotmail dot com
THANKS!
My family and I love our Merry Mallow Fudgie Cookies! Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas in our book if these cookies were not in the cookie tray :D Basically it’s a yummy chocolate dough rolled in sugar with a marshmellow surprise baked inside..comes out of the oven all crinkly and good.
Wow! My favorite treat during Christmas time is my mother in law’s famous toffee. It is to die for! ~ashersjane@gmail.com
I can’t pick ONE favorite dessert!!! That’s insanity!
I just made a chocolate pumpkin cheesecake and it is amazing. That’s my current fave, but not my all time fave.
What a nice giveaway! My favorite has to be my gram’s pumpkin pie- it is the best!
There are so many Christmas desserts I love, but if I had to pick just one it would be my grandma’s baklava. I was pretty proud of myself when I made some for my family last Christmas and they said it tasted just like hers! Thank you so much for the giveaway! The Farm Chicks look like so much fun – I may have to add that book to my Christmas list ;-)
What’s your favorite sweet or dessert at Christmas?
My grandma’s Nut Roll! It is delicious and she only makes it at Christmas.
Contact me at surely0shirley@gmail.com
Sooo Cute! I love decorated sugar cookies.
I love homemade fudge!
Chinese Sponge Cake. It’s super airy and oh so soft. Yum. It’s a childhood favorite. I also LOVE to make madeleines. Cute and small.
My favorite dessert at Christmas has got to be my mother’s bourbon balls….I stumbled across these as a child – How could I not? they had chocolate!, anyway, mom stopped making them for years (as far as I knew) and now that I have been of legal drinking age for awhile, she makes them for me.
Homemade sugar cookies are my favoirte without the frosting. I love them with tea.
Hello Bakerella!
My favorite Christmas treats are brownies (specially my best friend’s) and red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting (although I love them all year-round). I am actually baking red velvet cupcakes to give out for the holidays and I’m going to decorate them with great ideas from the book: Hello, Cupcakes!, so the gift tags would be perfect! :o)
Thank you for always being so generous Bakerella!

Poppy seed kolacky have to be my favorite holiday dessert. The whole process, from making the cold dough to sprinkling the powdered sugar on top, reminds me of the holidays. In fact, I think I need to go make some …
OH how adorable! I want!
My current fave dessert at Christmas is Gingerbread, Blackberry, Lemon Trifle!
I hope I win.
Off to visit the Chicks.
~K!
My favorite christmas treat has got to be my shortbreat cookies with a chocolate wafer on top! I like to make them bite sized so you can just pop the whole thing right into your mouth. That said, I also have to give a ton away or else they’ll end up on my hips too! So addictive :)
My favorite sweet or dessert is definitely nice and simple chocolate chip cookies. Although this year I’m making a gingerbread house with my niece and I couldn’t be more excited.
If I win, please contact me via email at cizmorris@gmail.com
There are so many wonderful sweets to choose from. But I love Christmas cut-out sugar cookies. So beautiful and a wonderful treat.
My favorite has changes over the years. As a kid (and beyond!) it was my Aunt Jan’s sugar cookies. Now, I have to have some homemade peppermint bark and lucky for me my neighbor makes the best!
Good ole’ fashioned sugar cookies! You just can’t beat them when they’re all iced and sprinkled :)
I am just going to stay vague and say the best thing we eat at Christmas is the Famiy Snack Table! It usually had five or six types of cookies, Papa’s Fudge, Muddy Buddies, caramel corn, ham and pickle rolls, cheese ball and crackers, wassle, hot chocolate, Christmas-colored M&Ms, and lots of other goodies we try out each year. It stays out for a few days, too, so we can enjoy the full brunt of the holidays and maximize our weight gain!
My favorite Christmas dessert if fudge. I make it every year and everyone around me requests it. I might eat more than I share hehe
Oh I just love holiday sweets period!
:)
I love Farm Chicks! I’ve been following the blog for awhile now. I am so glad Serena sent her readers your way. I love what you do in the kitchen!
My neighbor makes a fantastic rum bundtcake with lots of nuts – yum, yum!
Chocolate fudge. So simple yet delicious, but also devious. :)
carmal apple cheesecake with gingersnap cookie crust
It’s to die for and so easy to make anyone can do it!!
humm there is some leftover in my frig from thanksgiving I think I will have it for breakfast. see ya!
I love spritz cookies! They are the best.
My favorite Christmas desert would have to be decorated sugar cookies and homemade cheesecake…yum yum
I love green holy cookies from when I was a kid. They are like rice crispy treats, but you die the marshmallow mixture green and use corn flakes. You make a heap of them and add 3 red hots…everyone gets their own holy leaf of yumminess!!!
It has to be Sherry Trifle! Very english and I love it!
thanks for the opportunity to win some of Serena’s stuff!
at Christmas, i love making blondies, peanut butter candy, and 7 layer dessert.
so yummy, though, are all the Christmas desserts.
It’s gotta be the humble mince pie for me. My auntie makes the crumbliest pastry with just a hint of almond in. The mincemeat inside is nice but that pastry – OMG! It’s got to be shortcrust pastry too, none of this puff pastry nonsense. I cannot wait for Christmas every year, just for the mince pies. (Fruit mince by the way – not actual meat!)
Thank you for the inspiration all year round! Have a cool yule!
beks78@gmail.com
Every year I make a big honk’n chocolate eclair cake..It is mine and everyones favorite. Came from a lady I called grandma and she got it off a recipe of the day on the RAIDIO :-)
My friend Cindy’s peanut butter balls!
I love gingerbread fresh out of the oven. It smells great and I sooooooooo delicious.
My favorite holiday dessert are the cookies. Especially sugar cookies with yummy frosting on them. I love baking cookies with the kids to leave out for Santa. The best part is eating them, so the kids think Santa came.
my boyfriend always makes chocolate fudge with pecans… its so creamy and amazing!
Canadian Toffee – it’s like carmel, just a little harder. I can’t eat enough of it!
Chocolate oranges, yumm
I can never narrow food down to a favourite, but for Christmas, I really love Whoopie Pie Cookies!
Our new kitchen is set to arrive next week and I may just turn the place upside down getting back into baking. The tags would be perfect for the all the things I’ll need to give away!
I make these mini-pecan tarts in mini muffin tins. Just like pecan pie only bite size!
My favorite treat would be two fold! ;) Hey, it’s the holidays, and I just can’t help myself! I LOVE these special oatmeal raisin cookies, (the recipe was given to me for my wedding by a family friend). And, snowball cookies. (hershey kiss in the middle). YUM!
I am a total chocoholic, but these two cookies remind me so much of the holidays, you can’t help but sing Christmas carols. ;)
Although I’m now allergic to peanuts, my favorite treat at Christmas time has always been Peanut Butter Blossom cookies (the kind with the Hershey Kiss on top!). I now make a habit of sneaking the gooey kisses off the top of the cookies and leave the peanut butter bottoms for others!
Oh my goodness! There is no way I could pick just one sweet! But I will say that I love sugar cookies from scratch made with my kids! Also, my new obsession is cakeballs, so probably lots of those this year!
my email is coolhairchic@sbcglobal.net
My favorite dessert at christmas time is not your momma’s bannana pudding…ahh who am I kidding its my faovrite dessert anytime!!!
Thanks for all you do!!!
Tara
Decorated sugar cookies!! I love the christmas trees and snowmen the best!
I love the farm chicks! And their stuff is so adorable. I think I found them via a comment (i believe it was by one of them) on Ree’s site once. I haven’t looked back.
I hope I win!!!
My favorite recipe at Christmas time is – hands down – tamales. Can’t get enough of them. As for my favorite dessert… Hmm… White chocolate peppermint bark. For sure.
Coconut cream pie. My grandmother made it when I was a kid, and now I make it for my mom and I.
We love celebrating Christmas with CAKE…either a moist dark chocolate cake with white chocolate frosting and raspberry filling adorned with fresh raspberries and white chocolate curls or yummy Italian Creme Cake. Mmm..can’t wait to bake!
My favorite treat is our family’s secret recipe coffee cake. Super delicious! I can’t wait!
homemade divinity!! YUM!
I love to bake (and eat) Kifli at Christmas.
I love frosted sugar cookies with sprinkles… They just seem to make the holidays all that much better. Plus my kids and i get to make and decorate them together and that is really what makes them so much more special… Love this website… Thank you…
Chocolate pie, all from scratch thanks to my wonderful momma.
What isn’t my favorite dessert at Christmas? Baking Christmas cookies with my mom was such a big deal when I was a kid. My all time fav is probably Magic Cookie Bars though. Yummy! I love to make cakes too so the cake necklace would be such a nice thing to win!

I love iced sugar cookies, and my favorites are always the “stained glass” ones with the hard candies melted inside. I can’t wait to make some!!
I have so many favorites, but I have to make Cherry Bars (they are a thin pound-cake with blobs of cherry filling cooked inside) every year or it doesn’t seem like Christmas.
I love christmas themed “shooter cookies”… Cookies that you load the dough into one of those tubed guns, add a disc with a design on the end, and press them out onto the cookie sheet. I don’t know the real name, so i’ve always called them “shooter cookies”
I love homemade sugar cookies, but I really love the sweet yeast bread my grandmother used to make but can’t now due to her health declining. It’s a Danish (as in Denmark, not the pastry) recipe and I can’t ever seem to find it.
Oh those are too lovely! My favorite is actually the whipped cream that tops the pumpkin pie. The best is the kind with maple syrup instead of sugar….mmmmm….
Christmas wouldn’t be the same without my Aunt Laura’s penuche walnuts!!
Homemade Orange and Cranberries Christmas Cookies hmm hmm Delicious.
And every year friends, family AND coworkers ask me to make some for them!!
Divinity- but only if I can make it with my Dad.
hmmmmm…. you know what a candy cane would easily replace… a lollipop stick.
