Happy Valentine’s Day!
Here’s a super last minute idea or more likely – an early idea for next year. Just something quick and cute.
And if you don’t need any treats, you might want to mosey on down towards the middle of this post.
I made little heart chocolates. Hi.
And packaged them up like tiny candy bars. Too cute. And thanks for reading.
This is super easy. You’ll need a candy mold though. The product number is in the photo below if you want to search for it. I found mine at Cake Art. The squares are 1.25 inch.
And because I have a mini candy coating store growing in my kitchen, I decided to use some of it up for these.
Melt pink candy coating and then using a toothpick, draw heart shapes in the cavity of the candy molds. Let it dry and then pour melted chocolate candy coating over the top. Mercken’s is what I used for these. Fill the cavity enough so it reaches the corners without overflowing and then tap the mold on the counter to settle and even out the coating. Repeat with the remaining cavities. Place in the freezer for a few minutes to set and then pop them right out of the mold and place on wax paper. Repeat and repeat until you have what you need.
Of course, you make these even easier and unwrap existing candy bars to use.
Now the fun part. I had these pink foil wrappers that were lonely and waiting to cuddle something. They were really too big for the bars I made so I cut them in half.
Lay the chocolate on the wrapper, fold the two short pieces first and then the long ones.
The foil is super thin so you can press it pretty flat.
These are also fun to wrap up your cake pops if you do simple decorations.
After your bars are all wrapped in foil, you can add paper wrappers.
I created these with different sayings.
Even one for the pinterest lovers out there.
Making your own wrappers is a cute gift or favor idea. Use the same process and create your own wrappers for your theme. You can turn any candy bar into something a little more special.
But now let me tell you why I really made these.
I bought something for myself a few weeks ago that I thought was the cutest thing ever.
Or at least the cutest thing that week.
It was on sale thank goodness. Wanna see?
It goes with the theme so far.
And it’s really what inspired these tiny wrapped chocolate bars.
But this chocolate is a little bit bigger.
And sassier.
The good thing is it won’t melt in my hands.

It’s pretty big, too. Actually it’s a really big clutch.
Big enough to carry all my cha cha chocolates.
Thankfully it has a chain strap, too.
And yes, I couldn’t help but make little Cha Cha labels. It’s just too much fun to say.
But I haven’t mentioned the best part about this bag. It turns out I didn’t just buy one.
Yep. Right now I have one for each hand and that just looks plain silly.

My favorite thing to do on Valentines Day is to spoil my husband and our two boys with sweets. I made marshmellow pops, sugar cookies and cake pops for home, school and work. I am looking forward to showing them all how much I love them tonight by slowing down, saying “forget the dishes, cleaning and laundry” and just spending time together. They have made me one lucky girl!

Spending valentine’s Day with the greatest person I know…my dad!! He has been my rock through this really tough year. We lost my beloved mother in march..not sure I would have been able to get through it all without him.

i have the sweetest sweetheart ever. i know this is kinda silly, but he saw that my tire was low and took it in to see what the problem was and turns out it was a screw. i love that he loves me enough to do “guy things” like that without having to be asked. one less thing for me to have to worry about.
OMG! How freaking adorable is that!!! I’ve got two loves in my life! One is my hubby of 10 years (on April 6) – we’ve known each other since we were five! Last year for Valentines he bought me 2 purses online – both pink and cute!! i get complements all the time on them! Can you tell he knows me well? My second love is my new baby girl! I love love love the clutch! I made the hubby heart-shaped Red Velvet Cheesecake Swirl Brownies for V-day and Bakerella inspired me to display them in a cuter way than just leaving them in the pan. After 2 decades I love my husband even more than the day I met him, even the day I married him. He is supportive and loving while taking such good care of me. Which isn’t easy since he got the “in sickness” part of the deal. Poor guy. But he still loves me & tells me ll the time. I am very lucky.

I possibly have the best boyfriend/ Valentine a girl could ask for. He is my perfect balance. Love the purse, love the chocolates! Early idea for next year, definitely.
I have so many special people I have to be thankful for (am I giving an Oscar speech?). My boyfriend is my Valentine today and I couldn’t have dare to do half of the things I’ve done these last 2 years if it wasn’t for him. I love him so much and he’s what I’ve been looking for my entire life :)

My husband is great, but my mom is the sweetest. You know the kind of mom I’m talking about…always says yes, knows how to do everything, your biggest fan. That’s my mom. I love her to pieces.
I have a wonderful husband, but I want to take this time to honor my AMAZING mother! She is so selfless in her love, and has honestly become my best friend. We talk daily and it’s still not enough. A purse like this would make her day!!
I don’t know what I want more Chocolate or the Purse! My husband is my Valentine. Even after 6 years we still by each other little gifts. He’s the most unromantic guy ever but he still melts my heart with a kiss.
Today, even though I refuse to do all the silly gifting, I think about all the loves of my life.
FYI, that clutch is to die for.

My mother is one of the sweetest people I know. When I was younger, she used to always have little presents for my younger siblings and me on Valentine’s Day – just to remind us that we’re loved. =)

My 5 year old son was so excited this morning to give me the chocolates that he and his dad picked out for me. He Is such a sweet and caring little boy.

Mid-2011 my Mother saw an advertisement for cake decorating classes and suggested I take them to pass some time… Now I’m training for my next career! I plan to open a bakery this year, actually. The purse is so adorable! I do have to say that my husband is the kindest most caring man I know. He does everything he can to make sure I am ok, no matter what, even if it means not spending money so we will have extra while he is gone. In 2 months he will be leaving for 6 months due to the Army and he was not able to get me anything for V-day. If this awesome purse came my way, it would be like a present from him! :)

I would love to win the Kate Spade clutch for my beautiful friend Reesa. She is a great mother and a wonderful friend — the closest thing to a sister that i have. We now live very far away from each other (I’m in Dallas, she’s in Toronto), but we do our best to stay in touch. She’s giving me the best birthday present ever by coming for a visit next month and it would be so wonderful to surprise her with your “extra” purse.
Since I moved ot Phoenix, I LOVE that my son and his wife and my 5 year old granddaughter ALWAYS invite me to join them for dinner and movies….they take such good care of me!!

I love my friends and church family who treat me as part of their own families. They bless me and help me feel special even on the days when I don’t.
Men will come & go in my life, but my greatest Valentine always is my lovely daughter. She’s 19 & is way more level-headed than I was at that age & has grown into the most beautiful young woman.
If I tried to draw candy hearts with a toothpick, I think they’d turn out more like pink apples… apples of love.
My Valentine… he’s sooo patient and kind, like that time I smacked into a tree with his car and freaked out but he just laughed and hugged me until I stopped crying. Plus he’s really ticklish if you know where to poke :)

My boyfriend is the sweetest thing in my life!! Since we first started dating, over two years ago, we refer to each other as types of food. For Valentine’s day this year my card said “To my cinnamon jelly bean, Love your frozen banana”. He’s better than chocolate cake!! :)

I would love, love, love to have this clutch for our next date night. My sweet husband and I actually celebrate V-Day on the 15th or 16th when the crowds are smaller and all the chocolate is half price. He just gets me that way. But my sweetest valentine is my little toddler. She makes me smile no matter what day it is.

my valentine this year is my not quite 3 week old daughter and i could never ask for a cuter date! even if she is why i am tired and sore.
also, it’s my cousin’s birthday and a cuter kid could not have been born on such a sweet day.
My husband made an appt to have my car worked on this morning. I was so annoyed that I would have to sit in the dealership for 3-4 hours while they worked on it…thanks for the Valentine, hubby!
But then he surprised me by picking me up at the dealership, taking me to breakfast and telling me he took the morning off work so we could run errands and have lunch together before I pick up my car!

my special someone is my husband. he hasn’t gotten much sleep over the past week as he works for a start up, and so i at least try to give him as much as i can in the mornings as we have a very needy australian shepherd who is almost a year old. i love him and he is oh so very supportive and just works so darn much so that hopefully (and the future looks good) one day he won’t have to work… or if he does, it’s not for the money :)

*My husband, with out him my life would be boring and empty. He is my rock, my best friend, and the absolute love of my life.
*My 12 yr old, she is beautiful, mature, kind, the best big sister any one could ask for. She tells me all the time that she loves me, and that I am the best Mom in the world.
*My 10 yr old, she marches to a beat of her own, and I love that she isn’t afraid to be weird and laugh at herself. She tells me every morning that she loves me and hopes I have a good day when she gets out of the car at school…no matter who’s around.
*The “older” 5 yr old, he is the sweetest, cuddliest most affectionate little boy in the world. Always full of hugs.
*The “younger” 5 yr old, he is just such an awesome kid. He always has a smile on his face, loves to help around the house, loves his Daddy too much for words, and an imagination as big as the sky (he and his brother both do.)
