Happy Valentine’s Day!
Here’s a super last minute idea or more likely – an early idea for next year. Just something quick and cute.
And if you don’t need any treats, you might want to mosey on down towards the middle of this post.
I made little heart chocolates. Hi.
And packaged them up like tiny candy bars. Too cute. And thanks for reading.
This is super easy. You’ll need a candy mold though. The product number is in the photo below if you want to search for it. I found mine at Cake Art. The squares are 1.25 inch.
And because I have a mini candy coating store growing in my kitchen, I decided to use some of it up for these.
Melt pink candy coating and then using a toothpick, draw heart shapes in the cavity of the candy molds. Let it dry and then pour melted chocolate candy coating over the top. Mercken’s is what I used for these. Fill the cavity enough so it reaches the corners without overflowing and then tap the mold on the counter to settle and even out the coating. Repeat with the remaining cavities. Place in the freezer for a few minutes to set and then pop them right out of the mold and place on wax paper. Repeat and repeat until you have what you need.
Of course, you make these even easier and unwrap existing candy bars to use.
Now the fun part. I had these pink foil wrappers that were lonely and waiting to cuddle something. They were really too big for the bars I made so I cut them in half.
Lay the chocolate on the wrapper, fold the two short pieces first and then the long ones.
The foil is super thin so you can press it pretty flat.
These are also fun to wrap up your cake pops if you do simple decorations.
After your bars are all wrapped in foil, you can add paper wrappers.
I created these with different sayings.
Even one for the pinterest lovers out there.
Making your own wrappers is a cute gift or favor idea. Use the same process and create your own wrappers for your theme. You can turn any candy bar into something a little more special.
But now let me tell you why I really made these.
I bought something for myself a few weeks ago that I thought was the cutest thing ever.
Or at least the cutest thing that week.
It was on sale thank goodness. Wanna see?
It goes with the theme so far.
And it’s really what inspired these tiny wrapped chocolate bars.
But this chocolate is a little bit bigger.
And sassier.
The good thing is it won’t melt in my hands.
Check it out. A Cha Cha Chocolate Clutch.
Loving the label.
And look at the chocolate candy clasp.
I die.
And the inside lining. So cute.
It’s pretty big, too. Actually it’s a really big clutch.
Big enough to carry all my cha cha chocolates.
Thankfully it has a chain strap, too.
And yes, I couldn’t help but make little Cha Cha labels. It’s just too much fun to say.
But I haven’t mentioned the best part about this bag. It turns out I didn’t just buy one.
Yep. Right now I have one for each hand and that just looks plain silly.
So who wants to help me out and take one of these off my hands?
Anybody?
Somebody?

This looks delicious, and I just might have to make my own chocolate someday! I’ve never seen anyone make and wrap their own chocolate before. Thanks for sharing.
Soooo very cute, and so much work i think.. But its realy fabulous.
What kind of paper do I need to buy for the wrappers?
Hi! I’m making these for my cousin’s baby shower, they are so cute! I wanted to know how you get such crisp and well defined hearts. I’m having issue with the edges becoming fuzzy because the warm chocolate being poured over is melting the edges of the heart. If I let the chocolate cool a bit it’s so much harder to pour in properly. Your site is such an inspiration! I would love your advice. Thanks so much!
wow I am gonna try make these
you are amazing!
Man my girlfriend was so mad at me cause I didn’t get her a gift.
Wonderful! Your work and website is amazing.
We can tell you’re so passionate about what you’re doing.
Very inspiring!
I was wondering which kind of template you used to create the cute little paper wrappers?
Did you just did it from scratch?
Cute wrappers! Was wondering what kind of program you used to design them. Any tutorials?
I made these (http://louiseandthestyleworld.blogspot.com/2012/02/valentines-treats.html) and they were a success! My husband loved them! Thank you Bakerella for all your delicious creations!
I have never seen anyone make and even wrap their own chocolate, but it looks incredibly delicious and I might just have to really try this out!! YUM!
I loved this post, what a cute idea! =)
What program did you use to make those cute labels? Thanks for sharing all your wonderfully adorable ideas!
-Lena
Loved this idea and then as I scrolled down I saw you had even supplied the wrappers that you created as a printable pdf.
That is pretty great – you think of everything and go above and beyond for the reader.
Keep up the good work!
That clutch is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen…even though Valentine’s Day has passed, I had to suggest the clutch to this list of great gifts for female friends, colleagues and co-workers.

I’m the luckiest woman in the world. My family is amazing, my partner is the sweetest and kindest man I’ve ever met. I’ve never felt better or more loved in all my life.

My Valentine is and always has been my husband. Quiet, calm and handsome–he rocks my world. He left this morning for a 5-day tour of colleges with our oldest son, and I miss them already. I sent them off with some Cadbury emergency rations for the road, but am seriously thinking about making something chocolatey and divine for when they come back. Love love love the Kate Spade clutch.
beautiful chocolates and purse!
omg i want to win! happy late valentines day XOXO!
These are so adorable!! Perfect for portion sizing.. or justifying having half a dozen!
My special someone is my husband. Every time I look at him I visualize how amazing it is going to be co-parenting with him in a few months. He is going to be the best dad. :)
Loving the ChaChaChocolates! I just want to thank my mom, dad, and brothers! They are the sweetest (hehe) people I know & they are always supporting my baking (well they at least help me taste test) :) <3
My fiance is the best. We been through so much and I’m so lucky to have him. Our birthdays are two days apart mine may 2 and his may 4. We went to the same high school but didn’t know each other and date brought us back together years later. That’s the kind of stuff that only happens in movies and to make it all better our anniversary is DEC 25. Who could ask for a better xmas gift. We have an 11month old son together and are set to marry this year on may 5. I love this man and couldn’t ask for better!
I love this clutch! The candy clasp is my favorite, along with my amazing boyfriend who was just accepted into nursing school! I couldn’t be happier for him. I am one lucky girl.
OMG! Thats awesome. me and my daughter are going to hit the kitchen this weekend and make some for her high school marching band!
I can see making these for my husband and I feel he would do the same for me. He is so considerate.
My 2 year old is my special valentine! What joy and happiness she brings into my life! She has the cutest personality and always keeps me busy! How lucky I am to have her!
Bakerella..these are amazing!! You’re so talented..I can’t tell you how much I love these chocolates..I guess almost as much as I love my special someone, Nicholas. He’s the best person I know..so kind, loving, and giving. The rose bouquet he sent me for Valentine’s Day was amazing! Three dozen gigantic red roses..he said one dozen wasn’t enough! Can’t wait for your next post :) Thanks again!
My Grampie is sweet! He is takes his responsibility as the head of his (big) family seriously and takes care of everyone, all the time.
Love the cute chocolates!!! Great Idea!!!!
As for my “someone special”….well, I have 3,lucky me :-) My 2 daughters and son have captured my heart like no other, I thought I couldn’t be more in love with them than the first time I held each one in my arms but boy was I wrong…each day with each moment I just keep falling in love more and more with my precious angels!!! Every day is valentines day with these ones and their the reason I started to bake my goodies.
I love my parents, without them I wouldn’t be able to do half the things I am able to now. I graduated high school last year and still haven’t found a job, times are tough, I know they struggle and they are still willing to support me financially. They are always there for me as well as my grandparents who are unbelievably giving and loving. And my friends… I am thankful everyday that I have such wonderful friends that are a good influence on me. They have truly made me into a better person. I love my family and friends, I don’t know what I would do without them :)
Those purses and your candies are just too cute!
My husband is the sweetest person. We don’t celebrate valentines day because our anniversary is the next week. I can’t wait to go out and celebrate 4 blissful years with him.
a-you’re ridiculously crafty & amazing.
b-just saw that clutch in a magazine and drooled a bit.
c-although i love each of my nephews dearly, the 4 year old makes my heart melt…each time we leave each other he tells me he’s going to miss me, and i believe him :) those lil fellas keep me going!!
I love Valentine’s Day… mainly for the chocolate.
