Happy Valentine’s Day!
Here’s a super last minute idea or more likely – an early idea for next year. Just something quick and cute.
And if you don’t need any treats, you might want to mosey on down towards the middle of this post.
I made little heart chocolates. Hi.
And packaged them up like tiny candy bars. Too cute. And thanks for reading.
This is super easy. You’ll need a candy mold though. The product number is in the photo below if you want to search for it. I found mine at Cake Art. The squares are 1.25 inch.
And because I have a mini candy coating store growing in my kitchen, I decided to use some of it up for these.
Melt pink candy coating and then using a toothpick, draw heart shapes in the cavity of the candy molds. Let it dry and then pour melted chocolate candy coating over the top. Mercken’s is what I used for these. Fill the cavity enough so it reaches the corners without overflowing and then tap the mold on the counter to settle and even out the coating. Repeat with the remaining cavities. Place in the freezer for a few minutes to set and then pop them right out of the mold and place on wax paper. Repeat and repeat until you have what you need.
Of course, you make these even easier and unwrap existing candy bars to use.
Now the fun part. I had these pink foil wrappers that were lonely and waiting to cuddle something. They were really too big for the bars I made so I cut them in half.
Lay the chocolate on the wrapper, fold the two short pieces first and then the long ones.
The foil is super thin so you can press it pretty flat.
These are also fun to wrap up your cake pops if you do simple decorations.
After your bars are all wrapped in foil, you can add paper wrappers.
I created these with different sayings.
Even one for the pinterest lovers out there.
Making your own wrappers is a cute gift or favor idea. Use the same process and create your own wrappers for your theme. You can turn any candy bar into something a little more special.
But now let me tell you why I really made these.
I bought something for myself a few weeks ago that I thought was the cutest thing ever.
Or at least the cutest thing that week.
It was on sale thank goodness. Wanna see?
It goes with the theme so far.
And it’s really what inspired these tiny wrapped chocolate bars.
But this chocolate is a little bit bigger.
And sassier.
The good thing is it won’t melt in my hands.

It’s pretty big, too. Actually it’s a really big clutch.
Big enough to carry all my cha cha chocolates.
Thankfully it has a chain strap, too.
And yes, I couldn’t help but make little Cha Cha labels. It’s just too much fun to say.
But I haven’t mentioned the best part about this bag. It turns out I didn’t just buy one.
Yep. Right now I have one for each hand and that just looks plain silly.

Adorable – and it’s easy to say something sweet about someone I love – given the chocolate theme of this post – I’ll start with my oldest boy Kyle Reese. He’s 9 and someone very unique and special, so special that I named him after 2 of my favorite things – chocolate and peanut butter. I absolutely adore my youngest Adam Michael (I couldn’t find any chocolate that worked with Adam) – he’s 6 and makes me laugh every day. My husband is my world and makes my heart smile, and without him I wouldn’t have my boys.

Bakerella, I love your treats but I have to confess that I ADORE handbags!!!! I’m very good at handing over money and buying them too! Love the chocolates and the purse! I actually have two people…my mother is #1…she is the best. Always supportive of what ever I want to do. She’s not only my mom but my best friend. I had the sweetest valentines day love from my 20 year old daughter. She left me flowers, candy, and a card….. saying, “Happy Valentines Day Mom. Thank you for all that you do for me. My Valentine this year was my Grandma… I love her to death, and she is sassy and rebellious so the clutch fits. We didn’t do anything to exciting, but we spent the day together.
I bought a card yesterday with a porcupine on it. It said inside ‘I love you because you love me when I am prickly.’ At times after baking in my kitchen and sending the odd disaster in the trash I can be a grouch. Thankfully it is not often but my hubby knows that ‘this to shall pass’ and he just gives me a pat on the back and a kiss on the forehand and leaves me be. I am very grateful for that.

As for my valentine…its my beautiful 9 year old son, Trevor. He is so smart, articulate, athletic and the sweetest boy a mom could ask for. I’m pregnant with his baby brother right now and every day he talks to my belly and tells him all the fun things he can’t wait to teach him and show him when he gets there and he always ends by saying “I love you”. He just absolutely melts my heart every time. I’m one lucky mom :)
I love my mom. I surprised her this weekend by taking her out to eat.. She kept trying to pay for it! I told her I wanted to thank her for all she has done for me! I love her! :)

My Valentines were my husband and son. On Valentine’s day I got a migraine and my husband let me sleep through it. If that wasn’t sweet enough, he cleaned the house and made me dinner while I was out. I’m a lucky girl!

OMG, that is sooooo cute! I have to say something about my husband. He dug through my old cards and found the sweetest valentine card, wrote an awesome message on it an left it on my pillow. He is not very good at showing his emotions so this was extraordinarily sweet. I love that guy!!
My husband is so wonderful and patient with me. He keeps an eye on me in case of an allergic reaction and keeps my mind off of my aneurysm (on the splenic artery, not my brain thankfully) for a long while. He is the most unselfish person I know. I’m so lucky to have him. Süsse, you’re the best!

My brother remarried just over a year ago. We were close as kids, but drifted apart as adults. Especially after he married the first time. My new sister in law is the piece of our family that I never realized was missing. Her positivism, energy and loving spirit has really brought us all together. My husband was the sweetest Valentine, he woke me up with treats from a local bakery, flowers and a handmade card. As we enjoyed our breakfast he told me he had requested time off from work to spend the day with me (who is currently working night shifts). So we had a romantic, relaxing, and joyful day together!
Sometimes i look at my baby and even if am bone tired, or frustrated, or just plain irked, they make me smile, just because they are so smile-worthy.

This clutch is adorable. Almost as adorable as my husband. While we couldn’t spend Valentine’s Day together because he had to work, he did help me clean the house this morning. We also brainstormed some new furniture arrangements which is always fun!

My valentine (aka my husband) spent our valentines evening changing the flat we got on the way to dinner, then our meal was less than accceptable and I fell right asleep when we got home. I gotta say he does the sweetest things that most people don’t even notice. Without him I would have been stranded with a flat tire, alone eating a good meal and staying up late becasue I wouldn’t feel safe enough to sleep. What would I do without him? Let’s hope I never have to find out!!

My hubs and I shared a V-day cupcake and watched Glee last night to celebrate. Since our wedding anniversary is the 20th, we don’t usually do much for Valentine’s day. :)

The end of 2011 was really hard for my family and me. We lost our home to fire 3 days before Thanksgiving. I am so proud of how my three angles who were able to understand that this year would not be the year of really big and pricey gifts, but instead the gift of all 5 of us being healthy and safe, together.
I love my family and I am so happy that the Lord bless me with such great and wonderful children and a strong and loving husband that has helped keep us together even when we felt like we would fall apart with the stress we are under.

I am so thankful for my 2 little men. The 7 month old can’t have chocolate yet, but the 3 year old is lod enough. But, turns out he doesn’t like chocolate. But that just means I have the perfect companion to share my chocolate croissants with: I eat the chocolate and he eats the pastry. It’s a match made in heaven!

Of course the someone special and sweet in my life is my mom. She has sacrificed so much to make sure her two daughters have a wonderful life. I started college this year, and my first roommate totally ignored me. A friend from high school (we knew of each other, but had never been good friends) needed a roommate after her’s dropped out. Ever since then she’s been AWESOME. I probably would have dropped out and started at the community college if it weren’t for having an amazing friend like her!
