Cake Pops

It’s real. It’s printed. It’s on its way to warehouses and bookstores and stuff. And, it’s crazy. When I started this blog I would never have thought of myself having a book. Ever. Especially one about cake on a stick. I mean really. It’s crazy. Crazy wonderful. I can hardly believe it.

But it is real. My publisher sent me an advance copy to prove it… and I was just plain giddy when I opened it. I gave it a big hug. There was a significant amount of squealing, too.

I really have to thank all you guys. When I first started making the cupcake pops I didn’t realize how popular they would become and especially how quickly. So many of you had questions and were excited to make your own that it inspired me to want to keep making them for you. And then I wanted to make them better and see just how far I could take them. I made so many that after a while, it just made sense to put them together in a book. A book that would also hopefully help answer some of the questions you’ve asked along the way. So thanks for inspiring me to push myself.

Want to see?

Just a little maybe?

Okay. You talked me into it.

Look at the cute, colorful cover.

Hardcover. Yay!

IMG_3488

And here’s the spine…

IMG_3498

…with wiro-binding inside!

Pink wiro-binding which is extra awesome.

IMG_3504

It makes everything prettier when it’s laying flat.

Oh yeah… there’s also a bunch of pop projects inside. Some from the site and just as many brand new.

IMG_3506

And look… there’s even some step-by-step stuff. I hope this helps.

P.S. That’s me pretending to be a hand model.

IMG_3518

Pages. Real pages and lots of them.

All that rolling and dipping and decorating. The writing and photography and editing. Hours and hours at the computer. Did I really do all that? Was that me? So much work, but so worth it to see it all finished.

IMG_3509

Plus, when I look inside … it just makes me happy.

IMG_3531

I hope it makes you happy, too. Especially all of you who’ve made cake pops. Give a shout out if you’ve tried them before. I’d love to hear.

Cake Pops available in September or you can pre-order from the following…

    Must have this book!

  50. CAN’T WAIT to get my hands on a copy of this book. Yes, I’ve tried cake pops…and did it with my junior high art class as part of the 3D component of the course. The kids loved it (even the *macho* boys), especially the eating part. We did the bumble bees and the beginner cupcake cake pops. I’ve gotten requests to run that class again.

  51. I can’t begin to tell you how much I’m going to LOVE this book. Thank you soooooooo much for being so incredibly creative and sharing your gifts with all of us!!!

P.S. I am so excited, I ordered 5 copies of your book… going to give it to a few of my friends for Christmas!! We love your website!! Keep the ideas coming :)

  54. You are so amazing!!! I made your bumblebee cake pops for some coworkers of mine; we’re particularly fond of the bumblebee; you see, according to it’s proportions, body weight, etc., it shouldn’t be able to fly. It’s a miracle it can. So we take inspiration from that small little part of God’s creation to reach for the things that really shouldn’t be able to be done. So I made them these. They are genius!!

Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with us; I can’t wait to get my copy of your book!!!

  55. I can’t wait to have you and Ree sitting next to each other on my bookshelf. Congrats!

  70. I have already pre-ordered my book and can not wait until it reaches my door in September. My college age daughter and I have made cake pops twice now. The second attempt was the Hello Kitty design. They turned out alright but not nearly as nice as yours. I have pictures if you would like to see the results of our efforts.
Thanks for writing the book as I am sure I will learn much more and with practice I may even get the pops to look somewhat more like yours LOL.

  71. Oh congratulations!! I am so happy for you! What an amazing accomplishment! I can’t wait to see it! Best wishes to you!

  72. Just preordered your book. Looking forward to getting it soon!

You make this look so darn easy…maybe if I keep trying, one day it will be! Thanks for sharing your talent with us!!!

  75. My daughter, and I made them, once. They were so good! We were having so much fun with the designs. However, after the first hour, or so, we became burned out. It seemed to take forever to finish the batch. We shared them with 20 people, the next day. Everyone enjoyed the cake pops, and we shared your link with them. I think we’ll get a group of girls to work on them, next time. Congratulations on your new book!

  76. Congratulations! I can’t wait to give these books as gifts!!! Love your recipes!

  181. Cake pops have been my biggest hit so far from your baking projects! Everyone loves them. I made them for a baby shower in blue and green :) Congratulations!!! I can’t wait to have my candy melts coated hands on that book!

  182. Congratulations!!! You are truly an inspiration. I am happy for you. I already have this book on my online wish list. I really really want it!

  183. Totally love it!! I made the cake pops last year as an end of year gift for my kids teachers, bus drivers, all the people at school you do end of year fun for:) They were a hit. my only problem was that they kept falling off the stick when I tried to dip them. then since I wasn’t sure about the chocolate I refrigerated them and the chocolate ended up with condensation on it. Still yummy but do you have any tips? I love these and would love to make more; just a little gun shy:(

  184. SO exciting! Can’t wait to get my sticky, chocolate covered paws on it. Congrats!

  185. congratulations!!!!!!!!
I take you as my personal imitation model.!
Will the book also get published in Israel?
I’ll be really thankfull if it will

  186. I can not wait to get this!! I am so happy for you. I come here every week to see what you have posted. Then about 90% of the time I go right out and buy everything I need to make your delicious treats. Which doesn’t make my fiance too happy well at least not his wallet or his waist line he says. hehe I can’t say how happy/proud am I! Congratulations you really deserve it!

  187. Already pre-ordered my copy, girl. So excited for you! I’ve made the basic cake pops (haven’t had the guts to try out the more daring ones – yikes!), and they have turned out so cute. Congrats on your wonderful accomplishment; I can’t wait for my copy!
