  10. I just made these and they turned out *JUST* like the pictures!!! I used White Cake Mix and added red food colouring and I found Watermelon flavouring to use :) I used mini dark chocolate chips for the seeds. Dipped in white, then dipped in green and painted the lines on with Wilton Leaf Green powder. They are BEAUTIFUL and sure to be a hit at my son’s fundraiser! (not that I’m competitive or anything – lol) Thank you for the amazing idea Kerry!!!

  11. Ohhhhhh my! I have to try these!!! :-D

  12. I was even thinking I could add in some rum or watermelon rum to make separate ones for the adults, has anyone experimented w/a frosting/rum mixture before?

  13. I did mine with a white cake and flavored it with watermelon jello

  14. She probably used pink strawberry cake or red food coloring to color the inside. You could also do orange or yellow for different color ‘melons. watermelons don’t only come in red, you know. As for the chocolate chip seeds, she probably mixed a few mini chocolate chips into the cake crumbs as she was mixing the frosting in. You probably could flavor a white cake with watermelon flavor if you’d like.

  15. I see a lot of people asking the secret of how to make these in the round shape. Can you share your secret, my daughters b-day is coming up and watermelon is her favorite fruit. This would be a great surprise if I could make for her. Thank you!
